the slouch™ coat

The camel hair material is so soft and lightweight. Feels very luxurious to wear. Definitely not warm enough for -20 b/c at that point you should be wearing a parka or a real winter jacket. I’m usually a Xs-S and went with a Xxs and it still feels oversized enough for me to wear a sweater underneath. For reference 5’5 and 120lbs.

Typically wear XS, sometimes a small depending on the style to fit comfortably at my hips. I have the cocoon coat in XS. Ordered this coat in 2XS regular short. Being 5’2”, the regular 2XS in store was still a bit overwhelming for my frame but the regular short is perfect. Sleeves are on the shorter side, which doesn’t bother me, but others may not like it. When standing sleeves hit mid-hand, but when outstretched my sweater sleeve peeks out at my wrist. Otherwise, perfectly oversized, fits over all my oversized sweaters and can easily button without any tightness or pulling at the hips.

Light for a wool coat, but unexpectedly warm enough in 5C weather with just a hoodie underneath. I have relatively long arms and sleeves were just the perfect length!

This is my new favourite coat! It’s oversized but not too baggy. I’m typically a xs-s and got a xxs. It’s so soft, I love the material!

No where on it does it say not to put it in washing machine, so I put it on a delicate cycle and what a mess! I am so upset I spent a lot of money on it and the first time I washed it and it’s completely ruined. The wool is everywhere. The liner is now way longer than the jacket. It’s completely disfigured and created a hole on the inside. So sad as I loved this jacket and every time I wore it got compliments and now I can’t even wear it.

I normally wear a 16 and the XL is the perfect oversized look. Very warm. Great quality. Looks good with everything!

Best coat I’ve ever purchased! I do wish they had more colour options for the Tall women. They do run pretty large so if you don’t want it to be too oversized, size down.

I was looking for a 100% wool coat and this is the best quality for the price I have found so far. The material is very soft and comfortable and does not wrinkle easily. I am 5’2” and usually wear size XS, ordered the XS short and it fits well. A little bit oversized, just perfect for layering thick sweaters underneath. I also like that this style coat can be dressed up or down. Seems like a great coat to invest in.

Fits quite oversized — I never buy XS coats, but I got an XS Short. The XS is still oversized, but I love it.

The coat is beautiful - I bought the forest color and it's stunning. However, it's just not thick enough (I get cold in this coat even in 30-40F) and wrinkles very easily.

Really nice silhouette, easy to layer underneath. Very warm and the fabric is sooooo luxurious. Ordered Tall version because I wanted it to hit closer to my ankles. Highly recommend for a timeless wool coat.

The perfect oversized wool coat! I was hesitant about sizing since I had never tried it on in-store but it surpassed my expectations and fits perfectly! This is so cozy and warm (perfect for Toronto winters). Just buy it!!!

Fabric started pilling after only a couple uses, and the coat wrinkles easily. It’s also not as thick as expected for -20 weather

I am so happy with this coat, it’s such a beautiful wool coat that can be dressed up for down. I got the color deep camel after trying on a few different colors, the deep camel just looked so striking and chic! I am 5ft 4, 128 pounds, I usually wear a size S but I sized down to XS and it fits perfectly. Nice big pockets, beautiful buttons and stitching detail. Couldn’t recommended this coat more!

I waited for the "tall" version to come in stock and I'm glad I did- at 5'9, I was having trouble finding my perfect size in the regular height. A small tall did the trick. It is perfectly oversized without looking huge and most importantly, the sleeves are long enough! Can't wait to try it out this winter and confirm whether or not it was worth the price tag.

I love this coat! It's exactly what I am looking for. I got the short version, in size xxs. I would definitely size down. This is a perfect everyday coat, especially during the warmers parts of winter. Great for layering clothes underneath and thick enough that it doesn't make you feel overwhelmed. I love it!

Love this coat - I’m 5’2” and have a difficult time finding longer, trendy wool coats that won’t drown me so was thrilled to see aritzia carries this one in a short length. It’s been a great addition to my winter wardrobe. I normally order XSP and was glad I listened to the size guides recommendation of XXS. One word of caution - when the coat arrived the outside pockets were stitched closed which was confusing because the model shows her hand in the pocket on the PDP. Confused, I went to my nearby aritzia store and confirmed with the sales associate the stitching is meant to be open. Once I did this I was pleased to find very nice deep outer pockets. Why they don’t list on the tag or the website this is the case is beyond me because I’m clearly not the only reviewer who was confused by this.

I got this coat recently and it’s the perfect length for those that are petite. I purchased this in the short length in black. The length of the sleeve is just right and not long at all. It is an oversized coat so size down. There are also pockets you just have to carefully unstitch them. Overall, great coat for the early winters!

I’m 5’2 and bought the short length in XS. I intended to buy size small short but tried on in store and it was too big. The XS is still oversized with room to layer. I work in an office so I find this coat perfect for that. I can also dress it down because of the cut. I love it!

I own a version of their coat that was produced in 2018/2019. One of the best daily worn coats I own. I purchased another one, their current version called "The Slouch Coat New". Quality doesn't feel like it used to be and they redesigned the pockets. Overall, it's a nice staple piece to own, SIZE DOWN.

Nice winter jacket for canadian winter

The material is warm and not too stiff like the italian wool version; it drapes very nicely. I am 5’3, 115lbs and have a more athletic build so I sized up to a small since xs was too tight on the shoulders. Overall, great winter essential, very flattering.

I saw a couple of reviews saying that this jacket does not have pockets but it does and they’re pretty deep ones too! You have to untie the threading slowly but trust me the pockets are there. I love this jacket. It’s super cute and trendy. I’m 5’4 and 135 pounds I bought an xs and it fits great with space for a sweater.

i am 5’10 and the sleeve length is great as well as the overall length of it (falls to mid/low calf). warm and i can fit the boyfriend hoodie under with lots of space. the boyfriend hoodie is a size xL

Honestly so worth the money! The cot is very warm and fits perfectly. You can wear a thick sweater underneath it too.

It's a beautiful jacket, and it fits in the body larger. However, I'm 5'10 and the cuffs are too short. I would have gotten a Large for the arm length, but i was swimming in the jacket. Aritzia, you guys used to have full length sleeves, do better (half and inch at least), I am not a T-rex. Anyways, the colour rust is so beautiful. Especially on chocolate girls.

I went into the store and tried xs and 2XS, the 2XS fits perfectly, is still slightly oversized, and can wear a thicker sweater with it. For the people saying there is no pockets, there IS pockets! You have to cut the stitching open! Cocoa sand is the perfect color!

Wanted to love this coat but disappointed in the feel of the wool .. didn’t feel worth 400 $. Ordered a small and still way to big I’m 5’4 130.

I wanted a stylish, beautiful and warm coat for fall/winter. This coat does not disappoint. A relaxed fit that doesn’t look frumpy. The fabric is beautiful and the stitching looks lux. The only con is the camel hair is a bit itchy when it touches the skin on my neck which is why I took off one star. This issue could easily be resolved with a scarf around the neck.

I am 5’0, 113lbs and am so happy with the fit of short XS. No alterations will be needed.
The ‘deep camel’ colour is a bit off from the photo, but is ok.

My favourite coat! Great oversized look but the sleeves were still a perfect length on my short arms. I will be wearing this for years, it’s timeless. I wear a S in most clothing items, an XS in coats, but i got this in an XXS and it still has a very oversized look.

Received this coat today in the Eclair Brown colour, but the colour is definitely different than pictured on the website! I was expecting more of a mouse-y brown but the colour in real life reads almost a bit purple toned. A bit disappointing. The fit is as others have mentioned, definitely oversized. I am 5’1 and sleeve length on the regular size is acceptable. Not too long.

I got the short length in XS
The sleeves are shorter than i thought but I like the boxy fit. The materials are good and the coat keeps me warm.
However.... there aren't outside pockets!! It just looks like it. There's a small pocket inside the coat, but you can't put too much in it or it'll look bulky.

I usually wear XS or S. After reading the review, I chose size 2XS. I prefer the cocoa sand colour However, reading review again made me uncomfortable about the thickness and texture of this new release. For this reason, I ordered burnt cedar colour size 1 from the old release (cocoa sand sold out). I wanted to compare the quality and make decision for one of them, or return all the worst case.
After received them, I found the new one's texture and thickness are the same as the old one, from my vision and hand touch. I wonder the review complaining thin material are from other colours?
I compared the differences of these two versions. The new one is wider at hip and bottom, smaller at cuff. higher pockets, shorter sleeves and body.
The new version fits my arm well. But I had a T-shirt underneath. When I wear a thick sweater, the old version may fits better.
I like coat down to calf. These two are all above calf but below the knee, It is acceptable.
I do see hand stitches not straight at some places. Also the new version's stitch distance is bigger than the old one (doubled?). These are minor imperfections and acceptable compared with the good design and reasonable material.
I like the plushy texture and the thickness. I have to wear it a winter to know whether it can resist -20. But -10 should work.
Since they are different colours, we decided to keep all of them because they all look so good.
Thanks for making the short version. The overall design has thought inside.

I went with my usual xs. I like it, looks stylishly oversized instead of looking like I stole a man's coat. I think a big part of this is there's no seam straight across the shoulder. Love that, I have narrow shoulders and this type of coat is really hard to find for me.

I'm 5'4 122lb, rectangular body type. I tried the short in store and it was too short for my preference. Xxs fit well too but I wanted a more casual fit. If you can try on in store I think you'll be able to find a size you love. Sleeve is a little long on the regular but that's nice for keeping warm, as a plus the sleeves actually look cute folded up a bit.

Warmth: will be great for getting around in the winter but it's not the heavy coat that you want for spending time outside. It doesn't have vents in the bottom which I like because those vents always let the cold in. I'll be wearing my parka below -10.

Pockets: you have to cut them open once you're sure you want to keep the coat. They are nice and deep. Coat still hands nicely with my phone in the pocket. Inside pocket is awkward to reach with my right hand, if you're a lefty it'll be good.

Overall I'm really happy with this purchase!

took me a few tries, but finally found the right slouch size for me (5'3" 110 lbs 34B 25-26 waist 35-36 hips). i am usually a size XS or S in Aritzia tops, size 2 in their bottoms, 25 or 26 in Agolde jeans. originally purchased the older style 1/2/3 sizing in size 2 short (size 1 short was sold out) and the coat was still too long in length (44") and sleeves for me. when i saw the new slouch available in short length, didn't know if i should go for XS or XXS. the sizing chart did not help me because it said XXS was for 33" hips. based on recent reviews saying this new slouch ran even larger than the older style, i ordered XXS since it was about to sell out! it just arrived and fits great, with room for a thick sweater inside. #102565 XXS short length in black is what i got and the one i received measures 20" across from underarm to underarm, 21" across the hips when buttoned up, and from high shoulder to bottom of coat is 40" (hits right below my knees).

I am 5'1", 114 lb (U.S size 2p), tried on XS Short length at the store, and it's fit me perfectly! No alteration is needed! The length hits my mid-calf.

My normal Aritzia sizing in shirts is XS/XXS and 2 in pants. I’m 5’2” 32C 115 lbs. The recommended sizing is off, I took the quiz and got XS. Ended up up ordering XS and XXS in regular, and both were still way too big. Luckily the Slouch was available in the different lengths a week later and I exchanged for Size 1 XXS and it was much better. The perfect balance of oversized without the bulk and looking like a clown. The quality is alright, not the greatest but not bad either for a wool coat under $400. I noticed the size 1s are selling out quickly so don’t miss out!

I bought the one from last year and that was perfect. I tried this one in-stores and it's nice but it doesn't feel as thick compared to previous ones in the past so it feels like quality has gone down. I like the variety of sizes now as last year it was only sizes 1, 2, and 3. Mind you, I like my coats to look really oversized.

I purchased this coat both because I love the style but also because it was temperature rated at -20°C. When I received it and felt how very thin the material was I assumed that the website made a mistake with the temperature rating and was planning to return it until I also saw on the tag that it is rated for -20°. At that point I decided to trust it and removed the tags. I wore the coat today in windy 7° weather and I can tell there is absolutely no way this coat is keeping anyone warm below 0° unless you are already wearing tons of layers. This is slightly warmer than a trench coat or leather jacket, at best a fall jacket.

I understand this coat is supposed to be oversized/relaxed, however, I still find the 2XS too big (though it fits better than the old slouch, which I previously purchased in the size 1, which drowned me). I'm 5'5, about 115lbs; typically a size xs/s. I've also tried to read all the reviews possible for this coat, and don't understand how others with the same measurement as me, order larger sizes. I guess I just need to embrace the really oversized trend.

It's light and not worth the money, believe me.

I was worrying after reading the reviews here. I am 5’7 and 135 lbs, I purchased regular medium and it was perfect. Very elegant and the material is the same with the previous version but with a better texture. It is smooth and soft with decent weight. I am in love with this coat. It could be very warm in winter too since I can layer lots of sweater under it.

It's my first time owning a slouch coat and I wasn't really expecting anything. But I'm surprise on how much it fits me so well since I'm only 4'11. I bought it in the Short length and it hits just right below my lower calf. Perfect staple piece to add for this fall!

I usually am a S but got an XS for this as it was too oversized but I found if you get the chance to try on sizes in-store you can find one that fits perfectly. The new slouch sizing is much better than the old one and looks much more oversized but nicely fitting. I am 5'4 and got the one meant for those under 5'3 and it hits me around the knee and looks way better than the regular which hits around mid-calf. I got the rich mocha brown and its beautiful! 10/10 recommend.
