This is my third pair of effortless pants. I love the material and cut - they feel nicely made and flattering. BUT these are so much shorter than other effortless pants. Realizing that was a big bummer because I thought I found a go-to trouser.
Nice material. Fit feels a bit bigger than Dashwood or Tie-front pants, but not too much, just enough to pass all my "winter stuffing" but relaxed-looking. Just the right length for a 5'4 girl like me. They do wrinkle on the thigh part like linen pants when I sit in the car all day. Overall nice pants!
This is my first pair of wool pants so I tried these ones out since they're significantly less than COS. I wanted the city cashmere originally but those sold out. Pros: the pants flow nicely, they are warm, material is smooth. Cons: lining only goes up to knees, they wrinkle easily and stay wrinkled (mostly crotch from sitting). I did hem them because they are quite long on me but they still have a nice oversized look. And sized up so I could sit down comfortably.
I’m 5’3” and 105 lbs, i have 25” waist and 30” hips and a 28” inseam and often wear a 00/0. I got a 00 with a regular inseam and they fit PERFECTLY. There is just enough fabric at the bottom for the leg to have a baggy look but not drag on the floor. The pants allow me to have full mobility without feeling tight in any parts. They are SO comfortable. I would buy every color if I could.
Found these to be more snug compared to the crepette so I sized up. Really liking the city wool fabric as it feels thicker and a bit silkier compared to Cos’ wool trousers this season. I also prefer the city wool over the city cashmere, which felt more like brushed flannel. The inseam is only 30.5”, which is shorter than the Regular inseam of the crepette. For me I don’t get that puddling effect that I love of the crepette. Hoping they offer Tall inseams in the future along with more colours. Also the lining needs to be longer. It hits at the knee for me so I can feel the stitching of the hem when walking. Then when I sit the lining tends to slide up so I have to readjust. I’m surprised at the half lining considering it’s just some cheap polyester so why not line it all the way down the leg?
I bought these in the charcoal and wanted to love them but I found the wool scratchy and rigid and so for my body shape the pleats pulled in an unflattering way. The length of these was also inconsistent with other pairs I've tried on, these were shorter than others.
Size 2 is okay but I want some movement so I chose 4. Material’s good for autumn/winter with stockings. I have to hem it though, wish they have the short version available for this. ‘
Great quality trousers! For the price they are definitely worth the upgrade from polyester. I wear a size 6 in the crepette Effortless, Alanya and Carrot pants, and sized up to an 8 in these and was glad I did. I held them up to my crepette effortless in Admiral (6 short) and the waist size and length were identical. Keep this in mind if you're on the taller side.
A great fitting pant for work. Decent stretch and it’s not itchy. One weird thing about these pants: the black liner does not extend past the knees. I really notice this when sitting. I wish the liner was the length of the pant leg.
I’m 5’1” tall, about 95 pounds and I ordered a size 2. They are a very good fit and the wool fabric is very rich looking. I didn’t give it five stars as they are long, wish this fabric came in short. I like my dress pants to drape nicely and these do.
The effortless pants are, generally, very flattering. This particular wool option is made from very high quality material. Looks cheek and expensive. The pants are lined to the knee level. Perfect!
I bought this version in charcoal. Needed to size up from 6 to 8 as they fit slightly smaller in waist than polyester version of lighter colors. Though polyester in black also fits smaller.
Wool looks much better generally for cooler season than polyester, so I recommend them for fall-winter.
