These are relaxed hiking cargo pants with a built-in belt, articulated knees, zippered pockets and our signature Cozy Waist and EasySinch Hem. They're crafted from water-repellent, ultra-lightweight fabric with a hint of stretch for ease of movement and maximum comfort. This fabric is made with recycled materials.

Love these! But wouldn’t wear for hiking
I usually wear XS/0 (sometimes XXS/00 for high waisted items) and since these are mid-rise, I went with size 0 and they fit well with a little extra room at the waist. It comes with a belt so it’s easily adjustable but also allows room to wear a base layer or if you’re bloated/have a food baby haha. One thing that’s wrong about the description is the “zippered pockets” - these have velcro closures for the pockets and only the fly is zippered. Not a fan of velcro but this isn’t a deal breaker since I like the style and fit. There’s also a shock cord with toggle at the bottom of each pant leg if you want to adjust the fit at the ankle! I think these pants are more for style than hiking, and I wouldn’t rely on aritzia for technical athletic wear.

Dream hiking pant
I've been looking for true high waisted wide leg hiking pants for so long. Very excited to wear these backpacking and on more day hikes. They are loose enough to layer with a warm baselayer in the winter and loose enough to help keep mosquitos off in the summer.

I'm 5' 6", 140lbs, 30" waist and 38" hips. Size 6 was recommended, but I went for 8, and I'm glad I did. They fit comfortably. Maybe snaps would be nicer than the velcro on the pockets (can see debris getting stuck in the velcro on camping trips), but not a deal breaker.
