northstar parka Mid-length, goose-down parka

I usually wear size small but bought the medium (only size left). The sleeves are definitely long on me as well as the body (it reaches mid calf or slightly past). With size medium I can layer a lot inside and the jacket would still fit comfortably. Had there been a size small, I probably would have bought small instead of medium. I love how the buttons work - it's not completely/all attached to the jacket so you can easily use the buttons (you can slip your finger under the button to press it to snap together).

Its super comfortable and fits me well length wise which is normally difficult being so small (I got an xxs) I will say that because it fits so well its not a layering type of jacket, if I would wear a shirt and a sweater on top its snug around my armpits.

The coat itself is gorgeous. Stunning material ! The width was perfect however I’m 5’1 (yes short) and this was sooo long on me. The coat went past my knees and the arms were so so so long. After getting it tailored it was perfect but it’s just so long .

Love this jacket, happy I bought it. It’s a nice material that looks clean and fancy for a warm parka. Super warm, waterproof. Zipper is a bit annoying but not bad. Sleeves are too long for me but I’m petite, I got xxs.

I am so happy that I got this parka. The silhouette is beautiful and fitted, and it's comfortable and warm. I was nervous reading about other people's issues with the zipper but I haven't had any trouble with it.

Great jacket, very warm, stylish

At first, I wanted to exchange this to a different one. It fit a bit bigger in my opinion. I ordered XXS btw. But I realized I'd be able to wear thick sweater with this one. So, I kept it. So far I like the hood, its big enough to protect you from chilling wind.

Love the coat! Super comfy and keeps me warm and dry on my rainy dog walks. The zipper is definitely a struggle. I will likely pay to have it replaced. Glad I bought this jacket on sale as I don’t feel it would be worth the full price with the faulty zip, but still a nice jacket overall!

This jacket is amazing. Comfortable. Warm. Stylish. The cords you can tighten to give your waist shape is definitely an added bonus to a fluffy parka. Would recommend for sure

I knew I would love the quality of this parka as I have another - Haven - though, I ordered the wrong size. I usually wear an xs to a small but wanted a roomier coat and ordered the medium. I’m 5’ 4” average weight. Big mistake and I couldn’t change my order after emailing and calling customer service the next day, so kept it. Roomy in the body but fits along the shoulders. Guess I’ll just tighten the waist a bit for shape. Otherwise it is very warm. (Does not fit smaller. The button wouldn’t allow my review to be corrected).

Definitely size up if you want to wear some thick clothes underneath! I LOVE the design and the slim fit!! yes, the zipper is kind of annoying but once you get the hang of it you'll be fine.

I just purchased this parka for the upcoming winter and I am obsessed! It fits on a slightly smaller size, I purchased a size small and I am able to comfortably fit a thick sweater underneath (for reference, I am 5"3 and around 130lbs). I love the black fur on the hood as it gives this a more elegant look. I did not find any issues with the zipper. Would definitely recommend it for cold Canadian winters!

I normally wear small and decided to ignore other comments about the sizing. I got the small and it fit exactly how I wanted it to. Snug even with a sweater on yet tight enough to keep you warm during Canadian winters. Recommended !

My first purchase from you! It's a beautiful reddish orange and very well made after a thorough inspection. The coat itself is quite heavy weightwise, so it feels like it will stand up to its windproof promise but could feel overwhelming to more petite/slight wearers. I'm a busty 5'6'" with broad shoulders and I joke that I'm an "extra" medium, as in not quite a large, but the reviews that say this fits smaller are absolutely true. The coat fits like it's suitable to wear over lighter/thinner layers, i.e., office wear or dressy clothes, not a bulky casual sweater or hoodie. I deducted a star because I'm not sure the coat will be as universal as I want for casual versus dressy use, but again, I haven't had the chance to thoroughly test it. Still, though, it was a very good buy compared to what other companies like Canada Goose and Triple Fat Goose charge for similar jackets. I also like that it looks expensive without logos. Kudos also to the shipping team for the careful packaging!

Good Quality but a little small

Fits small. I normally wear an XS in all Aritzia parkas, but this in XS was very tight in the armpits. Even the S is snug in the armpits. So I would recommend sizing up. I noticed all the reviews say the zipper sucks, and it's actually true, the zipper takes a few tries to get it to latch. So it's a bit of a pain. Other than that, the jacket looks so nice on, has a nice sinched waist, and the zipper detail at the back. Love the way it looks!!!

I got this jacket in red and I love it. It’s heavy, long and warm. The zipper is a little annoying and is a bit awkward to use but I still love the jacket. I’m tall and have super long arms so I went with XL. It fits great in length!

I was a little hesitant about ordering but so glad I did! The zipper is not an issue at all provided you know how zippers work. It has to be inserted all the way into the bottom zipper piece before it will zip up. Not sure that’s different from any other zipper I’ve ever used. I got the rust/red color and it is gorgeous! And it is very warm. Perfect for northern Canadian winters. I sized up as I saw the fit was slim and I’m so glad I did because it would have been a little snug in the shoulders had I not. The cinchable waist helps with keeping a nice shape to it also. Would definitely recommend!

I absolutely love the color of this parka. It looks great and I get lots of compliments on it. However, after about 2 months of wear the color on the butt area started to fade. It's been about 4 months total and the area is noticeably white now. I think it's because I carry a backpack at university so that's just something to consider.

I love how sleek and warm this parka is. The only downside is that the zipper can be a little tricky to zip up at times - maybe 20% of the time. The coat is heavy when I’m holding it but it doesn’t feel heavy when I wear it.

I can't speak to the warmth yet as it hasn't dropped to freezing temps but it's held up well in 20-30s degrees.I'm 5'1 so it hits about knee length for me and sleeves a bit long (usual struggles with every jacket). The fur is pretty big and heavy so i removed. Like the length and style so far.

Otherwise a really nice coat, I went a size up then usual as it was a bit snug, if you had sweater/cardigan on underneath.

The fit is awesome, the lining in the hood is super soft, the colour is great, and it is super warm. My only complaint is that the zipper broke within the first 2 weeks of purchase. Considering I paid nearly $400 for this jacket, I would expect a zipper that actually does its job.

Its not even -10C yet and I feel really cold especially around the arms area. I shiver with the slightest wind which I really dont understand. I thought it was engineered for -30. The hoodie is too big for a human head. It blocks my vision making it hard to see. I really dont recommend it to anyone.

I purchased this coat this fall. The fit is beautiful and very flattering - size up if you want to wear thicker sweaters/if you live in a colder area. It's warm and can be dressed up and down. The zipper quality, however, is TERRIBLE. I have to fidget with it multiple times, every time I want to zip my coat up. It is so bad half the time I don't even bother and just try and layer up with scarves, sweaters etc. It defeats the entire purpose of paying for and having a winter parka. Given the price point, I think there are better jackets out there you can go with. I've never had an issue with any other item I've purchased from Aritzia and generally shop there because I can count on their clothing being high quality. Super disappointed with this item, it really missed the mark... would not recommend and would not re-purchase.

Great coat for our freezing cold Canadian weather. I love the material, very high quality and seems like it won't "fade" like the TNA parka I have, and much more sophisticated looking. Fur and hood are amazing, covers your head very nicely from the wind and snow. Only complaint is the zipper, really hard to get used to and takes a few tries before you can get the stupid thing done up. Other than that this parka is amazing and totally worth the money.

I bought the black parka with the black faux fur hood. It looks a lot better in person than in the pictures. The faux fur feels very soft and luxe. I tried on the XXS (my usual size), which fits true to size, except the armpit area felt a little snug. I got the XS instead so that I could wear thicker sweaters with it. It is a warm parka at a pretty reasonable price. The only pitfall is the damn zipper. It's so hard to zip, which is extremely frustrating.

Love it !!! So warm during these freezing temps ! Love the length, double zip, pockets, hood. My only complaint is that it is a little heavy . Overall, great winter parka!

Overall, very pleased with this parka! It’s more stylish and grown up than the TNA parkas. And it is quite warm. The fur is also very soft. My only complaint is how hard it is to zip. It always seems to take a few tries to get the zipper into the clasp.

Gorgeous jacket. I usually take a XXS or XS in Aritzia clothing and XS in jackets (I have a TNA parka and Babaton wool jacket). The XS fit best with enough room for a medium weight sweater underneath. I agree with other reviewers that this jacket is dressier than the similar TNA jackets, and the zipper is a bit hard to do up at times. The faux fur trim is PHENOMENAL! So soft and big (although the hood comes down a bit low when my hair is down). The jacket fits longer on me than the model but I prefer that as my legs get cold in the winter.
