hyde satin mini dress

I am tall and curvy. I tried it on in store and an XL fit perfectly. I had to order the blue online and am now ordering the green and have the matte burgundy. I open the collar for a mandarin collar aesthetic, for my ladies with a belly this piece is extremely flattering with its layering. This dress is perfect for work events when I have to dress up but need to be active so I pair with back leggings and black sneakers. I get compliments all the time, one of my favorites was from a student that told me I look like Kora, a water bender from Avatar the Last Air Bender (one of my favorite shows growing up). It is not a house coat and Im super amused by the other reviews. The style is clearly kimono inspired and the fabric is excellent quality having survived multiple washes and long work days.

I have this dress in four different colours in the satin. Fabric is luxurious and machine washable, style is super figure flattering. I always receive many compliments when wearing this dress in every single colour.

I really wanted to like this dress but for one, it’s 100% polyester and they want almost 200$ for it (now it’s 158$+tax but it was 185$+tax), it also runs very large. I ordered the same size as the model in the photo is apparently wearing and it’s quite baggy. There is no way that model in the photo really has on a size small, and if she does there are a million clips in the back pulling it into shape. You definitely need to have it pressed as it comes quite wrinkled. You really have to play around with it because it ties up like a house coat to get it to sit right. Overall the look was okish but I really wouldn’t spend the money I did on it for the quality I received and I would have definitely gotten an XS instead of an S. This isn’t the type of dress to order online imo but it’s impossible to find in a store in the Vancouver area. The Pandora green is a beautiful colour I will say that and even though it is cheap fabric that will not last, it looks nice when you first get it, I haven’t washed it yet so we’ll see how it holds up.

I really wanted to like this dress, I special ordered it in the pandora green for to wear for my birthday but it really just looks like a house coat. It also fits pretty big, perhaps if I got an XS it would look better but I just can’t get over how much it looks like a housecoat.

I typically wear a XS at Aritzia. The store I went to happened to only have a 2XS, which I was skeptical in fitting in, however it honestly did fit perfectly. It is a beautiful dress and quite honestly worth the money. The only complaint I would have is that you would have to steam/iron it before wearing it but that's just the nature of having a satin/polyester dress.

Its nice looking, but it fitted too large and loose on me. A medium would have certainly been better, but I returned it.
