I was a bit worried spending this much money on a coat, but I'm so glad I did. It's beautifully made and surprisingly warm for a midwest winter. I sized down one size.
Unflattering, Looks better in photos, bulky around shoulders.
Got a medium, I was suprised how bulky around the shoulders it was, alot of extra padding there makes the jacket unflattering. The slouch coat has a more flattering look, but I wasn't a fan of the only coat.
Just the right mix of tailoring and comfort, formal and casual. The black and gray plaid design is forgiving of the dog hairs that permeate my life. The coat is warm and can be dressed up or down.
Beautiful fit that works wonderfully both casually and dressy. I originally had the camel color and now also have the limited edition charcoal grey. Love them both!
I bought the navy coat one size smaller and I love it. Beautiful fabric, beautiful colour. The quality I have come to expect from Aritzia. I truly hope they never waver on their product quality. It is why I spend more on their clothing because it lasts, looks beautiful and feels luxurious to wear without spending ridiculous cash for luxury name brands.
Love my Only Coat! It is extremely warm and upgrades the look of any outfit you wear with it. I'm not a big fan of a super fitted or slouchy jacket look. This one fits just perfect, not too fitted and not too baggy. 10/10 recommend.
The coat is very well made, stylish and comfortable. I would say it’s warm enough for over 45 degrees weather. I went down two sizes however if you plan on layering just go down one size. I got the black and I’m considering getting it in the color- Saville.
i will agree with everyone this is a little big compared to the sizing. that being said i like the bulkier oversized but straight fit compared to the slouch, it's just that the sleeves are a tad too long. 4 stars because I have to get them tailored but when that is done it will be my perfect fit.
This coat is very luxurious and glamorous to look at. Props to the design team. I got the classic camel one. Although I can’t seem to understand why it’s pilling so easily considering that it has top tier composition. It’s 78% wool and 10% cashmere and the rest is polyamide if I am not mistaken. I’m not sure if this is long lasting when it comes to quality since I would really want to have a coat like this in my closet for a long time because it basically goes with anything. Buy at your own risk.
Really pleased with the craftsmanship at a great price - one can hope that it’s truly been sourced and assembled ethically. Small details like the care label having it’s own pocket to hide it away, the finishing tape/ribbon around every edge and the soft hand really make this feel special. Any one buying one of these or a nice wool over coat - please remember to cut the “X” thread holding the tail flaps together at the back (no flaps on this coat) and you indeed cut off the label that’s on the cuff of the coat. The pockets are temporarily sewn closed, you rip these stitches to open the pockets. I like that this can be worn casually or for more sophisticated looks. It is shaped for an oversized feel, so easy to layer up underneath.
I read through all the reviews before making this purchase online. Of course, there is always a risk because though reviewers give some details, the information does not always prove helpful when you have broad shoulders like me. Normally, though I am typically a size large, or 12, I have always had to order an XL in coats so the shoulders fit and the arms were long enough. I was torn about following the recommendations to size down, but I am so glad I did. The larger proportions of this beautiful coat fit me perfectly, and the fabric is gorgeously soft. I wore it for the first time yesterday, and it proved to be incredibly warm and cozy at -10 Celsius. I highly recommend this coat; it is elegant and timeliness, and I hope it lasts me for years to come.
Between this coat and the slouch (just like everyone else it seems) I am 5’8”, size 6 and usually a Medium… I followed reviews and ordered two sizes down an (XS) and it was no longer oversized which is the look I was wanting. I still had room to fit a sweater or hoodie under it with comfort but the sleeves were too short and it just didn’t feel “oversized”.. I definitely think a size small would have been perfect without being too oversized. I feel like people suggesting going down two sizes aren’t really going for a true oversized look?? They’re sold out in burnt cedar in small so going to try the slouch…
coat is comfortable in Vancouver weather from 0-10 degrees. Worn with a thick wool sweater underneath and got cold at -2. Not warm enough for below 0 on its own. Would not advise for colder climates. I normally wear a M/L for jackets. X and XS both fit comfortably. FIts larger than expected
Fits very oversized, I am usually a large and a medium was more than enough room for this. I ended up returning it and buying another Stedman coat instead. Overall the quality of these coats have gone down in recent years.
Was worried XS would be too small but it is perfect!
I was worried this would be too small given the measurements listed for the Only Coat, for context I am 38" B, 30" W, 40" Hips (I would normally wear a M & L across other brands) and the XS is able to button close without any pulling on the buttons! I would say the sleeves may be a bit short if arms are fully raised up, but I don't plan on raising my arms much! Highly recommend this coat to anyone looking for THE coat for winter and for life! This will last a lifetime so worth the price point
i understand this is supposed to be an oversized fit but it fits at least 2 sizes too big. i'm a xxs-xs, 0 bottom, 24 jeans and i'm swimming in the coat..like a child in their dads coat. why not make it more a true to size oversized fit or at least make a 3xs for the petite girls out there. other than that, it is a nice coat
I liked it on the picture and ordered 2 different sizes. But the fit on shoulderes are very weird. It supppsed to fit as dropped shoulder. But to make that fit, this coat's shoulders are very stiff. It does not drop. One more comaint. Aritzia does not refund to my credit card. They will give you store credit only or exchange. Very disappointing and I regret I did not check the return policy.
Beautiful coat. I love the simple style, no fuss with no belt or extra stuff to deal with. I usually wear a small but an x small is perfect, with room enough for a thick hoodie or sweater. So glad I bought it.
This coat is perfectly oversized. I am 5’10, 165lbs (lean athletic build) size 8 / 29 inch waist. The medium fits PERFECTLY. Polished and tailored looking while still achieving that oversized look. The sleeves are also long enough, which is usually an issue for me. The quality is gorgeous. I got the black and am really happy with this. If this coat goes on sale, I may snag another colour. I say if you are tall, go with your regular size. I can see this coat fitting very large on someone who is petite. Aritzia should keep this style. Far superior to the slouch coat.
I am 5”3’, size 4-6 in bottoms and size S/M on top. I have bought other coats from Aritzia that were XXS and unfortunately I recently gained a lot of weight. I do miss those but I bought this to fit my new body and I bought the small so it’s a bit oversized on the top but will still button around my hips. Looks absolutely adorable! The only thing is I wish it was an even darker espresso color.
This is a gorgeous and soft coat. As others have mentioned, size down even with the oversized fit. This coat does not keep you warm past -10 degrees and I'm surprised it's rated to -20. I would not recommend it for a winter coat, it's more of a fall coat given it doesn't keep you warm enough past -10.
I had been looking for an oversized coat to wear with bulky sweaters and this works perfectly. Originally ordered the size small but exchanged for extra small (usually a size 6). Exchange was fast and easy.
So glad I read the reviews and sized down 2 sizes. I’m 5’2, 145lbs and I usually wear M or S. I ordered an XS and it still fits slightly oversized without being too big. It’s perfect and so soft!
Love this classic coat! Makes me look put together by simply just putting it on! I’m 5’2, 137lbs, 34DD, 28 waist. I’m usually a small or medium. Definitely fits oversized and I find sometimes the oversized look can swallow me a bit, so I actually sized down two sizes for a cleaner, polished look.
Beautiful Coat with lots of high quality details. Bought the Slouch and this one, but found the fit of this jacket to be a bit more tailored. Also love the single row of buttons!
I love oversized clothing but I really should have gone down two sizes. I normally am a medium but bought a small. At the time xs were not expected to ship for multiple months so I kept the small.
I really regret not returning the small and getting the xs. It’s huge and I can easily wear my parka underneath.
I’ve read a lot of reviews where everyone is saying to go down a size or two because you will be swimming in it, but I found that not to be the case with me. I am 5’5”and weigh 125 pounds and found the small to be perfect. If you wanted it to look like the picture go with your true size. The coat is supposed to be oversized.The only coat is absolutely gorgeous and you can dress it up or dress it down so excited that I got it. It’s a definite must have.
I bought this coat in XS and XXS to try both. Decided to keep the XXS. I am 5'2, 115 lbs, and the XXS is perfect. This isn't a fitted style like the steadman, but the XXS fits like a glove. The quality seems nice, lets see if it holds up throughout the years.
