the effortless short™ mid-thigh

I love everything Aritzia. Once you’ve figured out your size and the ideal styles, Aritzia is heaven. I wear their dresses in XXS or 00 and pants and shorts in a size 0. I first tried the Limitless Mini Short but I didn’t like the length or the lack of pleats. The Limitless Mid Thigh is perfect for me and my style. I’ve worn it with tanks, body suits, light sweaters, and long sleeve blouses—everything works.

I prefer the prefer the original length however they do fit great and look great

These shorts are perfect- classy and neat-looking. Not easily wrinkled.

Nice quality shorts, the white is only slightly see through (you can see the pockets, but nothing else). In the pants I wear size 8 curve fit, but for the shorts I’m a size 10

I have a pair of the effortless pants in a size 8, I order the 10 in these shorts and I couldn’t even do them up! Sizing is waaay off, super disappointing.

I love the feel of these shorts. They are the perfect length for work, so I am still chic yet comfortable.

These are well made classic shorts. The fabric is really nice with a little stretch. The shorts seem true to size. I am usually a size 4 and that’s what I bought.

My favourite dressy shorts thus far! I can wear them all day - even on an exceptionally warm day - without them getting wrinkled or start to feel like they are sticking to my skin. I love the mid-thigh length because it is long enough to wear anywhere (ie. meetings, appointments, etc.), but still short enough to show a little skin and look cute. My go-to look this summer has been The Effortless Mid-Thigh Short matched with pretty much any sleeveless Contour. I have these shorts in both black and matte pearl; both colours are very versatile!

I’m Originally a size 4 (5’5” 125lbs) and 4 in the effortless pants but the waist was smaller. It fit but was tight so exchanged for 6 and fit great. Love the loose and relaxed but put together look. Love the modern taupe color also but bought in cream color also.

Excellent, fabric, length

These fit so small. I wear size 4 pants and ordered size 8 in shorts, the blue came in with 24 inch waste! The wire were bigger, but still way too small for size 8! What a waste of time

I listened to other reviewers and sized up for a very comfortable fit. The shorts are classic and can be dressed up or down. I look forward to purchasing more colours when they are back in stock.

I am a 51 years old women with a little belly ;) but the cut of the effortless short hide that belly. It is very flattlering. I am usually a size 10, but I took 12 for extra confort and it work ! The short is so confortable. The quality of the fabric is amazing. Just love my short.

These fit true to size, love the crepette, love the colour. Got a size 0 in dark night navy. Length of short is great. So versatile.

Closet staple! I am wearing f them all the time ! Slightly tight in the waist at first but then it relaxed! Perfect length for petites

These fit like a dream, and the crepe fabric is beautiful and looks expensive. They are also the perfect length for the office. The only reason I am giving these a 4 out of 5 is the sizing. I am a true S/4 for all Aritzia bottoms (including the effortless pants, which I have 2 pairs of), and I had to size up for these shorts as others had suggested. I ordered a 6 in these and it fits like a 4. For reference: I’m 5’4” and athletic 123lbs (I have a butt & thicker thighs).

These shorts are very comfortable and fit true to size. You can dress up with a vest or camisole or dress down with a tee and sneakers.

I originally ordered a size 4 as the reviews said they fit true to size. However, had to return for a size 2 because they fit slightly larger. For reference I am typically a size 4. I have the effortless pants in size 0 but needed one size up in the shorts. These shorts are the perfect midi length and look great in the navy blue.

Love the fabric of the effortless pants and happy they made them in shorts. I sized up one size from my normal size since I wanted some room. The older versions use to have the inseam length but for some reason isn’t listed for this one. So just in case you’re wondering, these are the 5” inseam shorts. Perfectly flowy and hits above my knees. And if anyone is deciding between colors like I was, “dark knight navy” is a mix between “total eclipse” and black.

I have these in 3 colours and I absolutely love them. I would buy them all.

Fits true to size, I want these in every colour

I bought this same style in a linen blend last year. I like this material much more, they wrinkle less. For reference, and this part is important, I am 5'8 and 160lbs and normally wear an 8 or 10 in bottoms depending on what it is (skirt, pants, jeans, etc) and the brand. I bought these in a 12 and they are still a little small on me. They are a very high rise and do tend to ride up a bit. They are also wide in the leg, something I wasn't expecting but I do like them and am keeping them. I recommend going up at least one size but you may need to go up two.

These are high waisted and but go right up my crotch. I don't know if I am 2 long or what. I am 5' 5 and I usually wear a size 10.. I got a size 12 but I honestly should of got a 14.. return

Favourite summer shorts for dresssing up or down. Found the matte pearl color less see through in the back than the birch.

Beautifully tailored and machine washable. Can dress them up with heels or down with sandals. Timeless.

I have 6 pairs of effortless pants, they are amazing and fit true to size.
I have thicker tights and butt, these shorts looked like my athletic bike shorts.
Might try the long to see if they are better or stick with the pants.

I ordered the color Saville in a size 4 and it was skin tight. For reference, I have size 4’s in 2 other pairs of effortless shorts and 2 pairs of effortless pants. I was surprised these didn’t fit. I’m not sure if the 6’s would give right look. I might need an 8.

The 3” was out of stock so I tried the 5”, wasn’t sure if it’d be too long and it wasn’t, it was great! Love this belted with the sculpt tank and strappy heels. I feel like sizing runs slightly small; it fits my waist well but the cut feels like it rids up a little? Hard to describe.

These shorts are exactly what they are described to be. They are true to size and are so flattering in the fit. They’re also such a great elevated looking short! I love the length as well. I’m 5’4 and they hit mid thigh. Can’t say enough good things about them. I love them!

Such a great elevated style, but ended up wearing a size 8 when I’m usually a size 4. Great short to wear with crop tops because they are long and super high waisted.

Definitely size up one if you originally had a different size for the Effortless pants. When the first Effortless pants came out I purchased a 2 and that size fit perfectly. They must've changed their sizing because the 2's in the Effortless now feel too snug on my waist, which had never been the issue. I followed the reviews and went with a 4 in the black and cairo and thank the lord, the shorts are perfect and drape beautifully on my 5'3 frame. These are definitely worth getting and will be worn at the office - yay! For reference, my stats are 5'3 / 105lbs / 32A.

Amazing fit. True to size. So flattering.

I own the pants and recently bought these shorts after trying them on in store. TLDR; I ended up needing to size up 1 size in the shorts from what I wear in the pants to get a similar fit. I couldn't figure out what size I'd need based on the reviews so I'm going to include details for sizing here: I'm 5'4", 28in waist and 39in hips for reference. For the pants, a 2 was slightly too small, so I got the 4 to fit slightly looser. For the shorts, it was the exact same fit but 1 size off, so the 4 was slightly too small, and I ended up needing the size 6 to get the same fit I have with the pants. Sizing aside though, they do fit very much like the pants and look really cute. I have shorter legs and the 5in inseam fits perfectly for longer shorts.

I size up a size in these - they're adorbs but small! The light birch color is see through.

Love these just like the pants

I'm really into business casual shorts currently, and I think these shorts fit the bill. Similar to what other reviewers say, you should definitely size up (1-2 sizes) if you want the pants to fit you, but that's just Aritzia clothes in general. Like I'm usually a 6, but I got a 10 for these pants. I really like pairing them with a scoop neck crop top and a jacket or linen shirt overtop. It's very versatile.

I sized up to a size 6 after reading previous reviews and so glad that I did! I am normally a size 4 but would definitely recommend sizing up.
