Estate Coat - Virgin Wool

wanted to love this coat. It looks stunning in pictures, fits beautifully, and has a great silhouette. However, the fabric quality leaves much to be desired—it feels cheap and attracts lint like a magnet. The biggest disappointment, though, is the design choice to leave the back of the upper collar uncovered, making it impossible to pop the collar when needed. This small but significant detail has made me regret the purchase.

My favorite coat!Structured and really flattering. I’m 5’7 and the length is perfectly long. The navy colour is gorgeous. Only thing is you’ll need to steam it after delivery :)

It's actually a pretty decent coat. I ordered this coat the first time in M - Rich Mocha Brown and had to return it since it fitted too big for my preference and they sent it with the magnet on. Kinda regretted returning it since it was clearly very brand new at the time and had the tags on. By the time I was ready to do a repurchase, I was considering repurchasing the coat with the same color in either S or M - leaning more on the former, but they were both sold out online! I stalked the site in case they restocked and I was finally able to repurchase the item again in M (only 1 left). I believe I'll be keeping it this time but I was sort of disappointed that the tags weren't on and there was an open safety pin around where the tags would be. I could tell that this item was a return.

The fit is amazing, however, the virgin wool is terrible. It feels like cheap felt, is a magnet to lint, and pilled after one light wear. The lining is also not as luxurious as they used to be. The quality is just not on par with my older Babaton coats from previous years. I really wanted to love it, but save your money.

I had to return this as the coat was too big, although the recommended size for me was a small. It was also a little heavier than I wanted. I would recommend sizing down on this one. I’m 5’6, 120 lbs for reference.

I have been on the hunt for the perfect “wear everywhere” wool coat for a few years now. This is it for me. I’m petite (5ft1 / 105 lbs, 32-34 bust, 26 in pants) and am size XXS in Slouch or XS in Cocoon or Stedman. None of those coats did it for me — Slouch drowned me, Stedman and Cocoon were too rigid. I wanted something to dress up or down. And 100% wool, which unfortunately seems hard to come by these days.

I’m SO glad I stumbled on this coat during Black Friday sale. The Estate is everything - timeless, elegant, classic, comfy, the right mix of structured/flowy… I can layer with blazers for work, hoodies for errands, it looks and feels great either way. XS in Estate is a bit looser than Stedman, in a good way. But it doesn’t drown me out as a short girlie, the length is actually perfect hitting right above the ankle. It’s also quite warm but not too heavy! I absolutely love it. The desert sand color is gorgeous and goes with practically everything. Really quality piece.

I risked it and ordered an XS because S was out of stock. I am 5’4” 135lbs 34B 29” waist and have narrow shoulders and the XS fits my shoulders, upper body, and arm length perfectly with a bit of room. I was worried about buttoning up the coat and having it look pulled apart because of my hips as it’s slightly contoured to run along the shape of your body, but it still hangs nice and straight even when buttoned. I measured the widest part of my hips and it was 42” with pants on. Length hits halfway down my calf.

I wasn't sure whether this coat would be too long, after reading the reviews (I'm 5'2"), but its absolutely perfect as a longer length coat (which is what I was looking for). The quality is impeccable, and the coat looks elegant. It's a real classic that is a highly recommended investment!

The fit and structured shoulders are BEAUTIFUL. Love that the coat is fully lined. I was deciding between beige and navy and went with navy since it suits my style more. However, the navy can attract lint pretty easily, I imagine it'd be the same for black, so have a lint roller on hand. Beige didn't attract lint though, just wasn't my style. This is like the longer, fully lined version of the Stedman coat. I wear an XS in Stedman, XS in Superpuff, XXS in Slouch, and went with an XS with the Estate coat and still have room to layer. Very happy with the purchase, knocking 1 star due to the lint factor!

The fit and quality are beautiful. It’s a longer coat so may not be great for people under 5’7. Looks great dressed up and dressed down with denim. I get lots of compliments on it.

I know that the slouchy coats are having a major moment right now, but this (more structured) coat is STUNNING. It’s elegant, timeless, can be dressed up or down, and the best part is that it’s *actually* maxi for me as a tall gal. Also, I have searched high and low and have NEVER found higher quality coats at this price point.

Like the color and the length. Looks elegant and classy. Really enjoying it.

I love a winter coat that doesn’t overwhelm your frame with bulk and weight; and this coat delivers that along with a smart tailored look. As a 5’3” woman it is very long and I’m debating whether to have it shortened or enjoy the length while it is fashionable. I loved this coat so much that I immediately ordered the Slouch coat, which was also a win. Probably could have ordered a medium but I like the extra room for the heavier sweaters I wear.

I’m short and finally found a warm winter coat to cover my legs and wear to work! It looks crisp and professional!

Had to return because didn’t fit. Runs small for buttoning. You only receive store credit when returning not a refund so be aware of that policy.

I liked the idea of this coat but was very long ! Even a small at 5’8 , it felt long. It hit right about my ankles and was way to oversized

Great quality and super comfortable. Perfect for a simple & elegant, everyday look!! Better suited for taller people since the cost is quite long. I’m 5’7” and the length was appropriate, but I wouldn’t have it any longer.

Desert sand color is beautiful. Feels and looks expensive. Classic fit. Long - I'm 5'1 and it hits my ankles.

Really love this coat! Although I’m not on the taller side the length was perfect in the arms and legs. If you’re thinking about this coat, get it!

I have multiple Aritzia coats but this is one of my favorites. I purchased an XS (my usual size) because I don’t want an oversized fit, and I’m still able to fit my thickest sweaters underneath. The length of the coat is longer but I think it’s perfect for wearing with dresses or midi skirts where it looks better when the outer coat is longer. It makes this coat more versatile to be dressed up and down. I’m 5’5” and the length feels appropriate on me. If you’d prefer a shorter length with a similar cut to this coat, the Stedman is what I would recommend.

I am 5’2” and this was way too long on me. Doesn’t come in petite varieties, so I had to pass.

Found it very baggy even after sizing down, would be good if you are layering but its still too loose overall , especially around waist back area, i love the length and color (heather light taupe). Should be tailored a bit better and not so boxy.

I love this jacket. It is true to size, feels expensive and has enough room for a sweater and blazer underneath it

Love this coat! I’ve never bought a navy coat before so was a little hesitant . It’s absolutely gorgeous! I’m 5Ft 6 inches and 90 lbs. I bought it in XS. Fits really well, room for a thick sweater under it. It’s the type of coat you can dress up or down. I can’t wait to wear it!

This is a great coat! Classic fit, very soft. Can dress it up or wear with jeans. True to size. I'm between an L and an XL. This coat fits well with room for a sweater, or even a very thin puffer underneath. It's long (I'm 5'6"), but it's the year of the big coat and I'm here for it.

Fits a little too big and LONG. For the price, the tailoring should be a little better. Had to return the M I ordered the Small even though I'm usually a solid Med. However, sleek modern look you can dress up or down. Also was arm!

The fit is nice. The coat has nice clean lines, not fussy or slouchy at all. It is very long and heavy. Just too much coat for me and the weather in South Coast BC. It would be perfect for dry cold winter weather in the prairies where it’s good to have your legs warm!
