To celebrate Lunar New Year, we collaborated with illustrator Lea Woo on red envelopes — infusing a cherished cultural tradition with her signature creativity.

Lea Woo is a Shanghai-based illustrator whose work explores the intersection of nature and femininity, blending digital techniques with the tactile qualities of classical Eastern craft. The result? A unique visual language that honours tradition through a distinctly modern point of view.
“For me, the New Year is about gathering with family. Like most Chinese households, we sit around a table filled with home-cooked dishes and share stories from the past year.”

“For the envelope, I used the traditional red-and-gold palette with gold foil stamping. The central figure reappears throughout my work — a woman holding a blooming flower, surrounded by blossoms. Beside her stands a horse inspired by Chinese paper cutting. It’s adorned with a classic Chinese knot — a symbol often seen during Lunar New Year celebrations.”
Special envelopes, rendered in Woo’s ethereal style, are available as a gift with purchase at select boutiques from Thursday, February 5, to Wednesday, February 18, while supplies last.
