the constant™ coat

I really love the look of this coat, but it doesn't quite work for me. 5'11. The L is a great fit in the shoulders and the sleeves are the correct length, but I'm absolutely drowning in the body of the coat and it looks sloppy and no longer tailored. The M is a great fit in the body, but the shoulders are ever so slightly too tight to be able to wear any sort of sweater with (which I will want to for a winter outfit) and the sleeves are way too short. I so wanted to love this but for a 400$ coat, it has to be perfect and it isn't.

I ordered the constant coat in black last year amd loved the more fittes fit as opposed to the slouch coat. Its such a versatile piece. Can be worn with suits for work, over sportswear amd perfecr for long skirts or dresses. And kept me earn in cold Montreal winters. I wanted a lighter color and ordered the taupe. Color was beautiful but material didn't feel like the same quality as my black one. It felt rough, rigid and felt like. The stitching too pronounced. Returned and ordered the only coat instead. Hoping this one comes closer to the feel of last year's contant coat.

Beautiful fabric with a structured shape. I love this coat, the fit is impeccable and the color is rich. Not as warm as they say on the label but so beautiful. I had to size down as the item was quite large.

I like this coat, it’s thick and looks like good quality. I’m 6 feet tall, 190 pounds, b:39, w:33 h:47. I’m pear shaped and have a hard time with dresses and coats as I’m between a L and XL. First I bought the XL and it was very big. I returned and got the L. It fits nicely, it’s a little tight around the hips but it looks really nice standing up and with the buttons closed. I would say if you are just between sizes you can probably size down.

A bit too long and the sleeves are always too long in these wool coats. Definitely not petite friendly. The quality is good but with the inconsistent sizing, I had to give it a 3.

Love love love this coat. It is however way Too long for short girls. Not even close to be wearable. Too bad it’s not available in Short lenght

Fit perfect and I’m 5’1

Sure to be a staple for years to come. Beautifully made, and a perfect fit! I always find that the sleeves of coats are too short and I do not have this problem with this coat.

This is such a classy piece. I tried it on at home and got sweaty after a couple of minuets. I live in a warmer place, the coat will keep me warm enough in the winter. I am usually a XXS in coat, I got this one in XS on sale. It fits fine too, definitely more straight/classic fit.

Originally I was looking at another jacket, but then I wasn’t gonna be able to get that until March or so. So I had gone in store and it also tried on the constant jacket. My normal size is a small, it is a little bit oversized, but not too bad. I still stuck with a small so I could wear bulk items underneath. Absolutely love this jacket! The black is so classy. I didn’t notice some people saying that this jacket didn’t have pockets. It does, but you do have to cut them out as they are stitched in. Just an FYI.

I have been coveting this coat, which I ordered in the Saville color, for over a year as it's a significant purchase. I managed to snag it on the Boxing Day sale for a reduced price but it still was a lot of money. I had read many reviews and I sized up as I was looking for a bit of an oversized look so I could wear it casually with a hoodie but still look not too big when dressed up. It did not disappoint! The coat and color are gorgeous! I have had so many compliments on the coat whether I am dressed up or down. I am a bit taller so I love the long length as it elevates your look. The coat is very warm which I know other reviews have commented it was not. For me, it depends on the weather of the day which coat I would wear. This coat is classic in it's design and I very much consider it an investment piece I will wear for a very long time.

I actually received The One Coat for Christmas but the oversized fit did not suit me. The Constant XL fits in all the right places. I get compliments where ever I go! I wore it on a family outdoor winter portrait and think it looks so sophisticated on me. I’m really pleased with the quality.

I love the quality of this coat and the Cigar colour turns heads! Gorgeous!

But because I'm a petite 5'2, 110 lbs, it can be hard to find coats which fit my arm length and are tailored. Please Artizia/Babaton...make petite sizes in your iconic wool coats.

I decided to get this tailored, slightly cinched in at the waist, and shortened the arm sleeves. My tailor left the last button, unbuttoned so it doesn't look off.

Now it's an absolute staple for me! But it did cost me an extra $100, so for my shorties out there, this might be something you have to consider.

its a nice everyday jacket for me. Easy to match with anything as ive Been using it to work (business casual) and errands with my sweatsuit and runners. The sleeves length is perfect long enough but not too long. As for warmth, vancouvers recent weather with strong wind at -10 C the jacket stayed true to its definition when syated that its for -20C. Im impressed how it was windproof.

I had my eye on it for a while and bought it during the sale! It's a great jacket! Fits true to size, I'm 5'4". I am about 145 lbs and have a heavier hip and thigh area. This jacket fits well!

I’ve always been a XS on Babaton or Wilfred coats so this one I took my chance and ordered for xs and it fit grear! bough green colour is so unique and classy! Buttons would be better off if its plain but no big deal. fabric made of wool is a huge plus

Love how they fit! Little on the bigger side. I got size Small and am able to wear my bf sweat suits under and looks amazing! Still stylish yet comfy.

Runs slightly large, so I had to exchange my normal size M to size S. But it is a beautiful coat.

Fits perfectly

The quality doesn't warrant the price. For $450 the pockets should at least be real. I bought this is a fall coat, so it serves my purposes, but it's listed for -20 C; at -20 you'd be frozen. Probably the last coat I'll buy at Aritzia, you can get better elsewhere for the same price point.

As soon as I put this coat on, I felt classy - which is exactly how I wanted to feel after being a pandemic slob for quite some time. I am 5’5” and 145lb but I sized up from my usual medium to a size large because I like the current trend of oversized coats. It fit me perfectly in the shoulders and body but was too long in the sleeves and overall length for my height. A tailor shortened the sleeves by adding a topstitched seam just above the functional cuff buttons and she re-hemmed the coat to mid calf length. Even with the extra alteration cost of $150, I feel this coat was still worth the price - warm, classy, stylish, beautifully made, lovely fabric and colour (I chose the heather dovetail taupe).

I first bought the Stedman in herringbone online in a S but it just seemed so big. I then order the Stedman xs in camel and the shoulders were too tight. I was about to give up my search for the best wool coat when I gave in a drove to the Boston store where I tried on everything!! I landed on this coat because I loved the structure. I wanted an oversized coat like the slouch or the only coat but those coats just didn’t work for me. I’m 5’6” and 140lbs in an xs (it’s a little tight when buttoned but I had buttoning coats). I have a small frame and carry my weight in the middle. I really wanted a coat that dressed up any outfit and this hits the mark. I hope it lasts a long time. Btw the pockets do work, you need to unstitch.

Good quality, but I wish it had pockets

I was in the market for an oversized wool coat - I tried this on in black and in light grey, and also tried on size S and XS - I purchased the black in XS. I am short and the sleeves are a little long - but I kinda like that to go with the oversize look. It is a warm coat (but buttons, only two that fasten) and you would need a scarf. Can wear buttoned or unbuttoned. It is definitely a keeper that I will care for.

This coat is worth the price. I love it. Its gorgeous. If you are between two sizes, get the size down.

I loved the colour but it didn’t sit right on my shoulders and wasn’t hitting me at the legs quite right (length).

If you are looking for a structured wool coat, I would stick to the constant coat. It’s light, warm, and gives a nice shape.

Needs more internal buttons for closure and a breast pocket

I feel like it was tailored for me. Love the fabric and the quality of it is great. True to size.

The fabric and construction is great. I love the navy colour with the gold buttons.

I adore the style of this coat and it’s exactly as described.
I only wish there were petite options as the sleeves are too big on me, and also an interior pocket or two would make this perfect. For the price point I think that is a fair ask.

I have been waiting for the return of a different Babton double-breasted coat which I loved very much and had for years. The constant cost is a close second but I didn’t like the colours. The recent return to several colour options helps. I purchased the taupe and it’s beautiful. Fit is great with room for a sweater or blazer but not slouchy or baggy if worn alone. Definitely missing an inside pocket and an extra front button would support longer wear overall imo.
I’m 5’10, 155 lbs and purchased M and fits great.

It is slightly larger, i usually wear S, but I bought Xs, i am very happy it is very good suits me

Love the classic double breasted style of this quality overcoat. It is a great winter coat to wear for work or leisure over a pair of jeans. If you want to upgrade your look for a night, pair your outfit with the Babaton Constant Coat! It’s a winner.

I can’t wait to wear my coat, however, the pockets were sewn completely shut and I called the concierge, then took it to Aritzia to see if they could open it up without ripping the pocket. The girls at the store, like myself, were too worried to try to open the pockets, so they sent it to Stitch It and it’s been there for a full week now ! I checked yesterday and Aritzia still doesn’t have it!

I tried it on when I got it and it fits perfectly - I got it in black, with black buttons . I already have the Stedman coat in camel, and the cucoon coat in grey. I love the quality and style of all my Aritzia coats !!

Overall, this coat ticks all the boxes. It’s tailored beautifully; the fabric feels & looks classy; & I love the long length. The shoulders are slightly padded, giving the look of more structure, less softness. ( not for everyone, I like it).

I got this coat over the holidays, it arrived in the first couple days of January and let me tell you… everytime I see myself in it, I am my dream girl😍 I wanted a maxi coat with structured shoulders for a look that was sharp with clean lines and this is exactly that! It really is very warm without being bulky (i took a 30 min walk in -10 with only one layer on underneath and wasn’t cold at all). I also wanted an oversized look that I could layer heavy sweaters under without looking “stuffed” so I sized up.
For reference: I’m 5’2, size S in Aritzia contour tops and size 4-6 in most bottoms at Aritzia, I got the coat in M

It’s beautiful fit, the tailoring is fabulous and it looks very flattering. Still have to test it’s warmth but do feel it’s a must-have thing!
