the slouch™

Classic beautiful coat. I am 5’7 and 150 pounds. Size 2 was great for me. Length and fit are as promised. I really love that it can be dressy or casual. Expensive but worth it.

so i was going back and forth between sizes, between a 1 and a 2. if you can, try it in store before purchasing. i ended up purchasing a 2 in the deep camel color for that oversized look. not to say the 1 isn't also oversized, but it's more tailored, kind of like the smaller versions (xs and xxs) of the stedman coats. could definitely fit a chunky sweater underneath with both but i liked the length of the 2 and it feels like a cape but warm. i don't know how to describe it, it's just the fit and the length were perfect. i'm usually a xs in aritzia clothing, sometimes small! the color is stunning and like a warm deep color that's not grey or too light. i wanted a truly brown color. the sand reminds me of saville in the stedman, which i own, and wanted a different style/color in the slouch. highly recommend!

Ok just for reference, I’m normally small in shirts and like a 27 in jeans. I wanted the jacket to be slightly oversized so I could wear a big hoodie underneath but the 2 was just too big. It seems rly warm tho

A classic camel coat….quality construction and materials……. roomy feel…….nice movement when you walk…….perfect length

I love this coat. I ordered it in a 2 instead of a 3 (I typically am a Large/12 in other Aritzia clothes) and the coat was still roomy enough to be able to layer underneath. I love how the jacket falls straight down, since I was expecting it to be a bit bulkier. The fit is (naturally) snugger when buttoning up. I wish the sleeves were a *little* longer, but it is not unflattering.

It's so beautiful that I'm considering getting the same coat in another color. I ordered the Dark Foxfire Brown, which looks more like a burnt orange color in real life (not quite as red as in the pictures, maybe like a darker version of the Deep Camel).

Super warm and am excited to wear this when the weather gets colder!

I am 5 ft 4, and I weigh about 100 lbs. I usually wear an XXS or XS at Aritzia. I bought this coat because the quality is fantastic. It's much larger and longer than I thought it would be as it hits me about mid-calf. However, it works well with the oversized look that is trendy these days. If you're petite and you like a more refined look, I would buy the Stedman lined instead which is more structured. If you like the "street" look, the Slouch is perfect for you.

I’m so excited about this coat. I love the oversized shape and the quality is amazing. I usually wear a S/XS in jackets and coats and I’m really happy with choosing size 1. I still have a bit of room but it’s not too much coat. Highly recommend!

One of the best pieces I've ever tried on. Good quality, warm, and flattering for most figures. My only wish is that this coat was more petite friendly. At 5'1, this grazes my ankles, which I don't think is very practical for those of walking in snowier landscapes. I'm also hoping there will be more colour selection in the future - navy, scarab, various greys, etc. Will definitely buy this if there is a shorter length available!

The overall quality of the coat is superb.My biggest qualm is that the color depicted online is not accurate... I got the dark camel and I thought there would be a rich copper hue to it, it is however a rather dull brown.

I am 5'8, 125lbs, and ordered a size 2. The sleeves could be longer, but the fit of the coat is fantastic.

The cut and fabric of this coat are great but the sleeves were too short for this oversized coat.

I went back and forth on this coat for weeks trying to decide on color, size, reading reviews, etc. It's confusing because there's two versions of the Slouch coat and I couldn't figure out the difference. After a lot of research, it sounds like the other version is a bit more structured and "heavy." This one is so warm yet the material is also kind of light at the same time, kind of like wearing a blanket. I'm 5'7" about 135, usually a size 4 in US sizing. The 2 is perfect for the oversized look I wanted. I agree with some of the other reviews that it can look a little tight when buttoned. I haven't even buttoned it yet because it just slouches in the perfect way when open and I wear it with thick clothes underneath and just sort of pull it closed. Love that you can wear anything underneath thick underneath and it's still comfortable. I also love how deep the pockets are. The pockets on my other coats feel too small now. As for color, I ended up ordering the Deep Camel and the Cocoa Sand to compare side by side. I really wanted a true Camel and honestly wish there was a color sort of in between the two. Both are gorgeous but I decided on the Cocoa Sand because I think it's more versatile and classic. I wear a lot of blacks and grays and the Deep Camel was just a tad too brown for me.

It’s a bit longer which is expected since I’m short but I can always wear a 2 inch boots with this coat. Also, this is so versatile since I can dress up or dress down when I wear this. I’d say the body part of the coat is a bit slim fit but still have a room for thick sweater. Amazing quality as to be expected from Babaton coat, so worth it!

I initially ordered this coat in a Size 3 because they didn't have Size 2 in Black and I'm 5'8" and a size 6-8 so I thought it'd be fine. It was waaaayyy too big in every way. The bottom of the coat was nearly touching the floor, the body of the coat was way too oversized for me. If you're under 5'8" and thinking about a Size 3, you might have to get a tailor to shorten it. I returned it and ordered the Burnt Cedar in Size 2. The sleeves are a little too short but overall it fits much better. It fits perfectly when buttoned up but I think if I wore any chunky sweaters underneath it'd look tight. I like the burnt cedar colour a lot more in person — it doesn't have any of the warm, orangey glow that's in the photos. It's a very even, very dark brown. Pockets are super deep which is kind of neat. If you're thinking about this coat, I'd suggest looking online at more photos to figure out your size, but in general go for the smaller size if you think you're in between.

I loved this coat so much, it's warm and great quality... however, I wish it came in petite sizes. I am 5'2" and it went all the way down to my ankles. For the price of the coat and the details, I couldn't justify hemming it. Sadly I returned it - I hope they make a petite size an option for the future.

Have tested it’s warmth and yes, really can withstand the cold! Now I want to get the black one and it is back to regular price :(

Very nice coat, soft to touch, warm and comfortable. I wear it with a thick sweater under it and I still have room and can move freely, I recommend it.

Perfectly oversized and goes with everything! I love this coat. I purchased it in the black, but would love it in any of the colours offered. If you're going to invest in only one jacket, this should be it.

I love the color and the fit, I prefer it unbuttoned and it is super warm ! Great "investment" piece.

I bought this with Rocco to compare, and returned the Slouch as it is too long on me, cutting my legs off at an odd length. Even if I were to tailor the length, the buttons at the middle part of the coat does not look flattering on me. Just makes me look like a kid wearing Dad's coat and not in a cute way. Would love if the Slouch comes with petite options! Cos I really love the material.

I love this coat! It has an oversize fit to it which is perfect for layering. The arm holes are cut larger so it’s not tight if you’re wearing a sweater. The fabrication is beautiful and it goes with so many outfits and warm enough for a Calgary winter day. Overall, great coat!

I spend a while deciding if I wanted to spend so much on a coat, but I love it! I originally purchased the size 2 based on other reviews and the size guidelines, but it was WAY too big, it looked ridiculous. I returned for a size 1 and I love it. It's still quite oversized on me, but it looks nice and it really is SO warm. I can't believe such a beautiful coat can be so warm! Definitely recommend.

I love love this coat! I wasn't sure whether to order the 1 or 2. I'm normally I'm a size 2 but I didn't want it too bulky or too long (I'm 5'3, 115 pounds), I went with the 1 and it is perfect. Still enough space for a chunky sweater underneath but not overly big if I have a lighter layer on. It's so soft, super warm and looks great with pretty much anything - jeans and boots, dresses, sweats, you name it.

Fabric was beautiful and warm, but the style did not suit my figure. The “oversized” look made me look large and shapeless. Sleeves were short on me too (I’m 5’11”). I traded it for the Stedman Coat and I couldn’t me happier.

I am obsessed with this coat! The way it drapes and the oversized fit is beautiful. I am generally an xs or 0 in Aritzia clothes, I bought this in a size 2 thinking I wanted to make sure it was oversized and I could fit sweaters under it. The way it’s cut I think I could have also gotten a size 1 but was happy with the 2 so kept it. Im 5’6 123 lb for reference. I’m not sure that it would keep me warm standing outside in the Ottawa weather too long, but warm enough for in and out of the car etc. can’t say enough good things about it. Colour and fit are exactly like the photo.

Love the coat! I'm 5'3 and wear sizes s/m in aritzia clothing, but I originally bought a size 1 in the coat because they looked so big on the models. Didn't fit quite right around the shoulders and clearly too small when buttoned. I exchanged for a size 2 in store and it now fits perfectly oversized, just a bit long but that can be easily tailored. Lovely material and quality.

This coat is gorgeous, the material is very soft and fuzzy. If your looking for a nice oversized fit or for layering i would size up.

It's a yes... I recommend this coat who's looking for a warm coat , comfortable and classy look for your OOTD. It can be used for casual and formal, very versatile coat. I'm happy that I purchased this.

It’s light, warm, comfortable and the price is unbeatable! I love it !! I used to only love Max Mara coats, but this one changed my view.

I’m 5’5, 120 lb, and got size 1. The material looks better in person. and it fits pretty well, still oversized, I can wear thick sweater underneath, and the bottom hits my calf slightly below knees. I think size 2 would be too long. So far I wore it when it’s around -2C with no wind, and it felt warm. I’m skeptical about -20C though...overall satisfied! Stylish and good price!

The fabric is way softer than I thought it was going to be, and the fit is PERFECT! I’m a medium across the board and usually size up when I want something to fit more oversized but I ordered the size 2 and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Not too baggy so it still gives a polished look but just enough room to make it cool and be able to fit a hoodie under it. Would buy in every colour if I could.

Love it. I bought the camel hair one so it’s a nice different texture than my other wool coats. The brown colour is a bit darker than the photos online but it’s very pretty. Very warm- I haven’t tested the “-20” rating but was quite comfortable at 3 degrees wearing just a thin turtleneck underneath. Classy coat for casual or dress. Definitely an oversized fit but not boxy. I have pretty narrow shoulders so the shoulders are dropped on me but that’s the style and I love it! Worth it!

I tried on a size 2 and size 3 and kept the size 3 because I preferred the longer sleeves. The body fit better on the size 2 (I'm usually a pants size 6) but the sleeves would've driven me crazy. As others have said, it is so nice to just throw on over a sweater and hoodie and look presentable.

I love this coat because you can wear it anywhere. Easy to throw on and goes with everything. Layer with it or not, it's very warm. I would wear it in up to minus 20 degree weather. An investment piece that is worth it!

I think slouch coats are a great timeless fancy-casual hybrid style that just looks so good. The coat says it keeps you warm for -20C (-4F) but I felt cold at 1 degree when it was windy at night and I am Canada-native! Overall though it's just way too cute, feels really nice, the pockets are fully hidden underneath so the pocket lining doesn't bulge out when you put your hands in your pocket (the pockets are also really large), and goes well with dresses to even a thick oversized hoodie with thigh high boots. I have a slender figure but I find it doesn't drown me in fabric and keeps me looking comfy and slender even though it's a loose fit. Worth the buck imo

Love this coat but it's on the slim side, def not oversized as expected. I'm 5'2, 105 lbs, ordered the 1. It looks great open, but done up is quite slim fitting in the hips. Hoping the 2 will have a boxier look!

Bought this as my winter coat. Love that it’s lined and so warm for its weight! I have pretty short arms and narrower shoulder so most of aritiza’s coats even in 2xs looks really large on me, but since there’s no shoulder padding or seam on the shoulder I find that this works perfectly! I’m 5’3 and it’s perfect long length on me :) CANT wait to wear it

This coat is definitely worth the money. I got the size 1, and I am 5 feet 1 inch and 105 lbs, and it is the perfect oversized fit. I wear this coat everywhere and it makes every outfit look great!

I'm a size 1 on top but a size 2 on the bottom, 5'4 120lbs. I debated for a few days between size 1 and size 2 before ultimately deciding on size 2 as I'd rather have the coat be too big than too small. Size 2 is perfect! Somehow it fits just right on my tiny little shoulders and isn't too tight on my hips. It hits at around calf length. Looks amazing with an oversized scarf too! This coat is oversized but somehow fitted at the same time so it's flattering, not shapeless, and perfect to wear over chunky sweaters.

I have fairly broad shoulders so sometimes coats restrict my arm movement, but that's not the case with this one! This coat is a great wardrobe staple and the camel colour will go with everything... I love it!

Remember seeing this style last year, but the material and quality look and feel so much better this year! It is pretty long and oversized, but that's exactly what I'm looking for. The style of this coat is similar to Max Mara 101801 Icon. The material and quality of the Slouch definitely match up with the price, or even exceeds the price in my opinion. There are two different coats that are called slouch coat, one is this with 8% polyester and 92% camel and wool, the other 22% polyamide and 78% wool. I bought this one in black couple weeks ago, didn't think I would like the material with the other ones with less wool and more polyamide. However, when I went into the store for Davenport (which is 50% off now, 94% wool and 6% polyamide) and Claridge (50% off, 70% wool, 25% polyamide, 5% cashmere) the material and feel of those are just not comparable to the Slouch coat in Dovetail Taupe (same name different item number and material 22% polyamide and 78% wool). I guess I'm wrong to assume the texture just from the content list on the website. I would say, the Slouch coat in black and the one in Dovetail taupe (can't really say for other colours, have only seen those two in person) have quality and feel almost comparable to Weekend MaxMara, which usually starts from 900 CAD, or S'MaxMara, starts from 1000CAD. I have tried on 101801 coat before and personally I think I prefer the style of the Slouch, which is slightly more casual and lighter in weight. Overall, it's definitely worth a try. For reference, I'm 5'3 and 97 lbs, bought the coat in size 1. (To be honest, the length of this coat is slightly long on me for my height, but it fits into the floor length coat trend of this year, and you can easily tailor it to be shorter,

The jacket is so warm and fits very well over my chunkier sweaters without making me feel or look super bulky. I’m 5’3 and it hits me about two-thirds down between my ankle and my knee, which may be slightly too long for my height but honestly it still looks great.

Love the fit of this coat! Just like the name, it has that slouch look to it. Great for everyday, I wear it with the sweatsuits I bought from Aritzia and it makes me look put together. However, I would prefer that the sleeves were longer. I noticed that when I layer thick clothes underneath, the sleeves ride up, making them shorter.
