the slouch™ short

I'm 5'3 and was looking for a perfect wool coat that wouldn't look too long on me. This was the perfect fit. It ends right above my knees, it's super warm and cozy. I have enough space to wear a hoody inside.

Bought it on a whim. Glad I did. The darker brown color works without so many outfits. Great Fall coat.

I haven't had this coat for more than I day, so I can't write to its durability, but upon first try-on I am so happy with my purchase. I've been looking for a black, oversized wool coat that wouldn't swallow me whole for some time and this is it! The fabric itself seems to have a bit of a sheen to it (not my favorite, but not a deal breaker) but is so soft. The shape of the coat on me looks exactly how it does on the model wearing the "medium brown" color (I felt like sizing in the pics for the other colors was a bit hard to discern), in terms of boxy-ness, length, etc. I am 5' 8", 125lbs, 32D, 26" waist, 36.5" hips and purchased a 2 (I am unfamiliar with Artizia's sizing, so not sure if that's on par for the usual or not). To my delight, the sleeve length is also perfect. This hits right at/ every so slightly above my knee and looks sharp buttoned or opened up. I live in San Francisco and think that I will get a LOT of use out of this coat. So excited!

Purchased the slouch 2 years ago and was stunned at how luxe the jacket was. Figured I would pick up a shorter version. The quality of this is terrible. Thin, cheap material and absolutely not worth $300. You can find this quality at much cheaper price points. I was shocked to see the low quality and poor construction that went into this cost.

Love the fit, very soft, pockets are large and I can easily fit a large hoodie underneath when its really cold :) Good quality. Only getting rid of one star because when I received the coat it had no tags, everything was removed as if someone had already bought it and then returned it, so I wouldn’t have been able to return it if it didn’t fit. Also it isn’t advertised that one side of the coat only has one hole for the buttons on opposite side (probably for style reasons) and the other side has holes for both sets of buttons. So one button is really only there for style. I don’t mind it and actually use that side to close with just one button more often.

I bought the long slouch first, the one with camel hair, and I loved how warm yet lightweight it is. However, I wanted something shorter that I can wear a bit more casually when running errands or going to the park with my kid. I saw it on sale and decided to go for it knowing the fabric was the same.
If you are torn between the longer version or this one, I would still go with the longer one. The short one doesn’t look as effortless or nice as the long one, it doesn’t look as unique, but I’ll say the quality and the fabric are still worth it. Same as with the long one, get your regular size for an oversized look.

Fit is very generous. My mother is plus 2X but she can button this coat.

This coat is perfect! So versatile you can pair it with a dress, jeans, sneakers or heels. Best crossover dress coat I’ve ever owned!

I got this jacket a couple weeks and have worn it very often. It’s a great fit and very comfortable if you’re looking for something a little oversized, I can wear a big hoodie underneath this without feeling restricted. The fabric is very high quality and for it being mostly wool things don’t stick to it. The inside of the jacket has a little pocket too which is nice. The inside material looks and feels like satin. I got it in the colour black and really love it.

This coat is exactly what I wanted! It feels so luxurious and is so cozy. I'm 162cm and 47kg and this fit just how I wanted, obviously oversized but not too huge that it looks ridiculous - this is probably due to there not being a shoulder seam. The sleeves come to about the middle of my hands and the bottom of the coat goes to my mid-thigh. Even if you were a little bigger than me, I think a 1 would fit as I can definitely fit a large, chunky sweater under this and probably a thin coat for extra warmth. Very pleased!

I have been looking for a shorter wool coat for months - it's harder to find than I thought it would be. This one ticks all the boxes. It is oversized but not overly so you don't feel like you are drowning in it. It feels very effortless to wear. Love it so much and I hope they come out with more colours or even a tweed!

I had been looking at the long Slouch and while it’s lovely it does not suit my lifestyle. Too worried about ruining the long hem with slush and salt from winter roads. Enter the slouch short. So cool and effortless looking. The camel is so soft and not heavy feeling like a wool coat. I am normally a size s at Aritzia and this is definitely oversized (size2) but in a good way.
Room to layer thicker sweaters which is great. Sleeves hit midway down my palm. I tried the size 1 but found it too snug and tight around the hips. Highly recommend.
