These are ok - they are very soft as the name suggests, they aren’t compressive at all (so if that’s what you want, this ain’t it), the way the waist is sewn I think it might bunch with wear, or roll (yet to be seen). I’m 5’8 and would have preferred these to be 1-2 inches longer as they sit about 3 inches from my ankle bones (why do you seem to be offering fewer length options than you used to Aritzia??).
I bought an 8 and I’m a M in most Aritzia pants. If you are a “smaller” M, I’d size down.
