Jaycina is a model, mom to three-year-old, Syx and the founder of Tender — a non-profit committed to empowering mamas by making essentials accessible. Tender provides emergency financial assistance with rent + utilities, grocery store gift cards, and everyday necessities like diapers and wipes to mothers on the margins.

I live in Atlanta, GA — a historically black city with the worst income inequality in the US and it’s easy to see that mothers that look like me in my city are severely under-resourced. With Tender, I just wanted to be able to give mamas the chance to focus on their children instead of survival — take a little off their plate, you know?

I hope that by my example my daughter is able to cultivate her own sense of self-love and self-confidence and that she is able to stand for what she believes in and what is important to her always.
