the new stedman coat

I love this coat. I get compliments every time I wear it - it looks dressy, luxurious, and expensive. The material is amazing, but it definitely doesn't keep warm up to -10. Definitely layer with this one. Reaches to my calf on my height.

The jacket fits very nice, however, for the price that you are paying, you would expect the wool to be a bit softer. This wool in this coat was very scratchy and rough, almost like a sandpaper. It also irritated the back of my neck when worn.

so so flattering and can be paired with anything. it's not insanely warm but it's great to layer things under!

I purchased the Stedman last year - lovely and soft fabric. Then I order 2 of the "New Stedman" on line - couldn't believe the difference in fabric - it's stiff and scratchy - and thinner - looks and feels very cheap. I wondered why they changed the name to the "New Stedman" and now I know. There are still some in the stores that are the original fabric - have a good look when you're there. I suspect once those are gone the new batches they order will be the new awful fabric. Aritizia - you shouldn't have changed the fabric to something cheaper - this is terrible.
They're both going back to the store.

Beautiful coat! I am petite, 115 pounds and this coat fit perfectly. The sleeve length is a touch long but I have very short arms. The coat length fits just right. Such a perfect staple addition to my wardrobe.

Amazing coat! I’m between a xs and s. I bought the s and it’s perfect - I can wear a thick sweater underneath it comfortably. This coat is the perfect casual/dressy coat.

I am absolutley head over heels in love with my Stedman coat! It is so sharp - I wear it every chance I could (dressed up and casually). One of my best purchases from Aritzia. And THANK YOU FOR MAKING TALL SIZES! The coat selection for Tall isn't eactly the best, so I had no choice but to get this one. It's a 10/10.

Highly recommend this coat! Also bought in navy too. Chic, warm, practical dressed up and down.

I just bought this coat in the cigar colour, size XS short. It is too long for me (5” and 110 lbs) and goes past my knees. The worst part however is the colour. It’s just really unattractive. Unfortunately I already removed the tags and there aren’t many colour options in the short length.

Quality is great and fits really well with layers

This is my 3rd Aritzia wool coat in 2XS. I also have the New Cocoon Coat in 2XS (which I love!) and Babaton Walton Coat in 2XS (my favorite!). The shoulder sizing seems slightly larger than my other 2XS coats. The sleeves are always long in all these short length sizing. Do they even make the sleeves shorter for 2XS sizes? Not sure.

The wool quality I think is ok and mine came wrinkled. Comparing it to my Babaton Walton, this wool looks really cheap. The feel of it is like a Zara wool blend coat. The finish looks good overall. No slits on the back (unlike my Walton coat!).

I still think it's a good buy for a lined wool coat since I got it on sale.

Love the fit, love the colour. I could have gone with an XXS but might have been tight with a hoodie under.

I like the classic fit of this coat. It's a little disappointing that there is no flap at the back to make it easier to sit in a car. The color is a neutral beige. the length is perfect and I am 5" 4" Overall the tailoring is excellent.

Bought this coat in October of 2022, now it's April of 2023 and it looks like I've been wearing it for a few years now. I have to use wool comb to remove all the fuzz and pill. Terrible, absolutely terrible quality for a $300 + jacket. I'd expect it from Zara but not from Aritzia...

Absolutely an amazing high quality coat. I got the shortened xxs cigar colour coat. Only thing is I had to get the sleeves shortened. Amazing coat and already got so many compliments especially for the colour (I got the Cigar - lighter brown colour).

Highly recommend. Fit is big for the way I was hoping it to fit. I originally ordered a large and regular fit. I was swimming in it. I ordered online and was easy and quick to return. I then ordered a medium and short fit and it was perfect. Fit more slender than baggy (which is what I was looking for).

I am an S/M depending on style. I got the M, and it was a tiny bit too oversized. I exchanged it for the S, and it's perfect. The right amount of slouchiness but looked refined at the same time.

I have the long Babaton Cocoon that I love but wanted something a bit shorter and lighter for those chilly but not too cold days. Bought this and could not be more disappointed. The fabric is not the same at all, and is of terrible quality. It is like one of those old school lint brushes. It pills endlessly, and one can’t seem to address that. It attracts everything and my trusty lint rollers are no match for it’s ability to hold on to every hair, fuzz and random things that attach. Save your $ and look elsewhere.

Love the fit, has the relaxed essential coat fit & style I'm looking for to layer during the cozy months. I do wish it came with inside pockets & more buttons at the front because it doesnt keep me that warm when buttoned up. More buttons down the front would make this the perfect coat.

Ran just a little bit small so I had to get the next size up. Really good quality though.

I did a lot of searching for the perfect wool coat to go with both casual and dressy outfits. I loved the look of the new stedman coat and after some debating, decided to order it. However, when the coat came in there was a rip along the seam of the coat on the inside lining. I feel if I invest in a quality piece, that it should come with no damage. However, the coat was the perfect length and color, and it fit true to size. Ultimately, I kept the coat but still need to fix the inside seam.

I absolutely love it. I have received a compliment on this coat every time I wear it. Stunning, just stunning.

Been searching for a dressy coat like this for work, and although the price is more than I’ve ever spent on a coat, I absolutely love it. The fit, the length, the color, the quality, the babaton label, perfection. Chefs, kiss!

The coat fits true to size. I’m usually a size 2 and the XS was perfect.

This coat garners me compliments galore... even the bummiest outfit is turned classy when sticking this coat over it. Runs long if you're a shortie like me. Super warm and comfy, but size up because it runs a lil small, especially if you want to wear something thick underneath in the winter. 10/10, would recommend.

The colour is lovely - deep and rich. The fabric is really nice. I got the XS petite which fits me perfectly (5’2”” 105 pounds). Delivery was quick.

This coat is everything. It’s light weight but so warm! I’m 5’8 and it hits me mid-calf.

Ordered a size medium originally and it ran pretty large on me (5’2”, 134lbs). Downsized to a small and it fits perfectly. Super flattering and the quality is amazing.

Received the coat and it already had wool that was pilling and a couple areas where there were literal patches in the wool

I'm 5'2, 125 lbs. I generally wear an XS in Aritzia coats and the super/mega puff. Tried on an XXS in this and it fit perfectly but decided to pick up an XS since I wanted to wear a thick hoodie or a chunky knit underneath. Stay true to size for thicker layers and size down for thinner layers, depending on how you want to style it. Sleeves were way too long but not something a tailor can't fix, brought it in for $30. Got it in regular length, a little too long and hits right on my shin area, should have gotten the short length instead but it's no big deal.
