the stedman coat

I used to like this coat but not anymore. It keeps you warm in not too cold weather. But underarms areas get very hurts when I wear for a couple hours.
I got it in 2XS which is my usual size in Aritzia coats/jackets. I tried XS and S in store but it fit too baggy and just looked not good so I decided to go with 2XS.
Cost itself is nice quality. I really wanted to like it but I prefer the only mid coat.

Beautiful coat with a classic look but fits large. According to the size chart, I should be a size small but when I tried it on in store, it was huge. I’m a little under 110 and a 2XS fits my petite frame better for a more slim look with room for a light sweater underneath. The only downside to this coat is the labels stitched on the sleeve. I tried to carefully cut them off, but they were so tightly sewn into the coat that some of the wool came out when I pulled out the label threads! :(

The Stedman is the only coat I will buy at this point. I have it in 3 colors, just bought my 3rd one. It's SO difficult to find a chic, elegant coat that can be dressed up or down, that is also PRACTICAL...and by that I mean actually warm enough to depend on when going outside, especially in Canadian weather. I appreciate the beauty and shape of the coat, but I also love the attention to the functionality of the coat. Like adding a piece of leather to increase warmth? Yes. Providing unlined and lined versions? Awesome. I love the Stedman, it's worth the money. You look good, it's great for every day, and yes it will keep you warm and you don't necessarily need to worry about tons and tons of layers in order to stay warm.

Great quality, the color/style goes with everything and the fit is great! I’m 5’ 7” 185 lbs, fits slightly bigger, so there’s room for bulky/oversized sweaters under!

Tight around arms. The fabric starts to bead up. Does not look the price.

Works with everything, got so many compliments already !

I’ve been eyeing this coat for some time, and took the plunge. I’m very pleased with the quality, and the colour (Rich Camel) is stunning, in person. It’s a perfect piece to wear with turtlenecks, work attire and anything, really.

I really love this coat! -Perfect length (XS), elegant design, hangs straight to knee, while also having that slightly menswear look that’s really of the moment. Color is a bit more greyish dove taupe rather than paler white dove, but still lovely! Lining beautiful, though pockets should also be lined for the price - they feel unfinished. That's just a minor issue though compared to the half hour of real hell it took to wrestle with getting those labels off the OUTSIDE (?!!) front arms!! Please do beware when buying this that you are literally holding your breath while doing this in case you tear into the coat bc those things are sewn in really tightly not even just tacked in loosely WHY OH WHY Aritzia? I managed it but even so it left tiny pin prick marks in my otherwise perfect coat!! So pointless . Just put the label inside the coat next time & tack it with a couple very gentle stitches.
Even so I do recommend... just be super careful & have them unstitch it in store.

I have yet to wear my new Stedman coat as I live in the desert Southwest and plan travel to Virginia and Colorado in the next several months. Winters are cold, especially in Denver, and I appreciate the -10F warmth rating. I am having the button moved about two inches on the coat because I prefer a more fitted look. I need the room in the shoulders and sleeves or I would have ordered a Medium instead of the Large I received.

The quality and craftsmanship of this coat is excellent. It is beautifully tailored with classic lines and hangs perfectly. So very pleased with it. I ordered XS. I love the colour I ordered "Deep Taupe"

Soft wool and cozy to wear.

I love this coat! The wool feels amazing, and the coat looks good buttoned up or open. This minimalist style makes it easy to dress up or down.

I’m so happy with the elegant style and quality of this coat, my first purchase from Aritzia. I am 5’11” and weigh 138 lbs, always have issuers with arm and overall length but not with this coat. Bought a medium and it fits perfectly..so pleased!!

Runs true to size. I am 5’4 “, 120 lbs and wear a size small, but the small was a straight body and didn’t have the oversized look I wanted. I took a size medium to have that more oversized/men’s look. Fit is perfect, fabric is really nice and is very warm and blocks the wind. Would highly recommend.

I’m absolutely in love with my stedman coat! It can easily be worn for a night out or casual with a sweat suit and still look great! I got the rich camel colour and have received multiple compliments on it. The only issue I had with it was taking off the sewn on tags on the L sleeve. I thought I was taking them off carefully but they left holes on the sleeve. Aritzia was amazing and helped me with an exchange and I was extra careful removing the tags from my second coat with a seam ripper! Would definitely recommend!

This coat is classic and tailored and looks beautiful. I wish I had ordered it with the lining as it looks a bit messy inside. It is worth the extra to order it in the lined version (which I did in the camel colour). Pure wool is always worth it as it doesn't pill and is warm and cozy.

Beautiful soft coat, unfortunately way to large on my small frame- I am about 130lbs and fit, height is 5’2 and I felt like I was drowning in this jacket. Wasn’t the look I was hoping for.

It would have been 5 stars if it had more than one button. Practically if it’s supposed to keep you warm up to -10C then there should be more than one button. Otherwise beautiful coat, collects a bit of lint but easy to brush off, and love the length and roomy style. Shoulders just slightly big for me but the small would be too snug. I’m 5’6” and 160 lbs and I had room to be comfortable. Wore a hoodie and leggings with it and it looked great!

The way this coat falls on your body is amazing. It's not a stiff thick wool blend, but the lined one is definitely warm! It's menswear inspired and is a touch oversized but it's meant to be worn that way - though it will look good up or downsized. It goes with literally everything, from sweats to workwear to a night out (if we ever get one again). Honestly it's a very lovely designed piece that will look good on anyone. I'm 5'7 and 150lbs and I got the medium (regular coat size) and it fits as expected. I would say stick to your usual coat size unless you want it more snug.

I usually wear a Medium but it was way too big on me so the Small was a great fit! Kept me warm while looking super chic and stylish. This coat is an outfit on its own!

I'm 5'8, 140 lbs and got a medium which is my usual size. It's got an oversized fit but that's exactly what I was looking for to wear over sweaters. The material is great quality and so warm, this coat is definitely worth the price in my opinion.

This fits perfectly (I’m 5’8 and 150 pounds). It can be dressed up or dressed down. I always get compliments every time I wear it.

I was on the hunt for a long wool coat. I originally tried the cocoon coat in long but it made me look frumpy since i’m short and carry weight in my hips and thighs. I went back and forth between trying this and the slouch. After a deep dive on reddit and Hello Harley’s wool coats review video, I landed on the Stedman. I usually wear a L or 10/12 in bottoms and my bra size is a 34G. The size L was a perfect fit with the mid calf length that I wanted.

Love love love. Ordered the small - I’m 5’3 and 145 pounds and it’s perfect on a small frame. Perfect length - hits at my mid calf which is perfect.

This coat is so good quality and warm. I can wear it when outside is -10 or in spring and fall if I keep my coat open. His quality and softness are lovely and probably you can get a similar coat for double price in another stores coat.

Warm, well-structured garment that fits nicely and looks great with gym clothes or business wear.

10/10 would recommend i got in the light camel and black and it goes with literally everything. Only downfall is that I wouldn’t say the -10 is accurate the max would be -3. Would make a great late fall/ early Canadian winter coat. I was still cold with all my layers in -6. I got compliments from everyone whenever I was out with the light camel. Feels and looks expensive as well as classy. Do size down !! I’m usually an xs/s and I got this coat in an XXS and it fit perfectly with room for a thick sweater and a vest. I’m 114 pounds and 5”4 normal build and it actually make me look a bit taller ?? Sleeves are a little on the long size but I honestly don’t mind it I can always cut it and it still works with the coat. If you don’t mind spending $$ for dry cleaning totally get it !! I’d avoid the grey as its less versatile and don’t forget to cut the tags off the sleeves !

Got a small originally and exchanged it for for an XS. I am 5’5, 118lbs and the small was more of the oversized look while XS was more fitted but looked much better on the shoulders with the beautiful stitching.

The Stedman coat style is very beautiful and well-tailored. I'm 5'4 and ordered an XS and it fits me well and there's still extra room for me to wear chunky sweaters underneath without it feeling too tight. My only complaint is that in the colour BLACK, which is what I ordered, the wool seems to attract lots of lint and fabric onto it, so I keep having to use a lint remover on my count continuously. I'm not sure if it's this specific coat or the specific colour, because my sister has the Stedman in TAN and it seems perfectly fine with no lint after wearing it. It's a bit frustrating considering I ordered this coat 2 weeks ago and have only worn it twice.

The color is just beautiful. Would not recommend if you are wearing many bulky layers, but it is very warm on its own because I bought the fully lined one! This is my first time buying an expensive coat and this was so worth it. The coat hits slightly below the knee on me.

The jacket is way too big, even the arms are too long.

Overall pretty good, I'm usually between S and M, but I got super puff and cherrelle blazer for S, so I also got size S for this one. Fits well with a regular sweater, but gonna be a bit hard to put on an oversize sweater though.

I've been wanting a nice navy coat in forever and this was perfect! I'm 5'1, 105-110 lbs and have trouble finding coats that fit because I always look like I'm drowning in them. I got this one in xxs and the coat was the perfect fit! It hits just below my knee, which is such a cute length. The sleeves aren't super long - they go past my wrist but don't cover my entire hand. Love it!
