stedman wool coat

This coat is everything! I always receive countless compliments. It is a bit more of a looser fit so i suggest sizing down if you want more of a fitted coat. It isn't super warm, but great for fall or good for layering. The colour is beautiful and the fit is beautiful. Can't say enough good things about this coat. Loved it so much, I convinced my friends to buy it as well!

This is exactly what I wanted. Ordered xs (I would normally get between an xs-s, as I’m 5’6” and about 118lbs) and it fits nicely, with a bit of room. Have worn sweaters underneath and still fits comfortably. Definitely not a winter wool though (not warm/thick enough)- someone actually said “love your sweater or coat or whatever”. Lots of compliments already! Great for fall weather!

The jacket is gorgeous, warm and a great piece to any outfit. I am on the shorter side so it is a little long on me but I really don’t mind its just something to keep in mind!

Beautiful coat!! I love the rich camel colour, tailored fit, and seam and pocket details. The most perfect coat ever! I’m usually a small in Aritzia shirts and blouses, but I ordered an X-Small in this coat and it’s a perfect fit!

Trusting many of the recent reviews for this coat, I bought this coat in a size S and it fit very well! I am typically a S/M and found the S to be a good fit, with some extra room should I want to layer up with sweaters or long sleeve tops. Although the body of the coat is not lined (the sleeves are lined!), the silhouette and structure of the coat is still very flattering on! Would recommend this jacket. Great timeless piece to have in your coat collection.

The coat is partially lined and the size is quiet bigger.
I bought Small size rather than medium based on other reviews.

I would like to buy another style of coat.

I got this on sale but the fabric quality is so nice. While I‘ve bought cheaper coats before, they’re not quite as smooth feeling if that makes sense while this coat feels luxurious. It also goes with so many outfits!

I’m usually a size XS/S in coats but I went for the 2XS. The jacket fit perfectly and the sleeves were slightly longer. My only concern is that the shoulders are a bit tight and a sleeveless or a thin long sleeve would fit well and comfortable under the jacket. I was also told that the more you wear it, the less tight it will feel around the shoulders...so hopefully that will do!

I hesitated to buy this coat as it has no lining inside. For me, it wasn't worth paying full price for a coat that's not warm enough for the winter (I live in eastern Canada). I bought it on sale for $225 and was glad I did! It's going to be a great addition to my fall/late spring closet. Based on previous reviews, I sized down from my usual Aritzia size (Small) and got an X-Small. The sleeves are perfectly adjusted, and it's still big enough to wear a wool sweater underneath. Keep in mind that it is still a boxy fit - will not hug your waist - but that's the style. Will look horrible closed - it's meant to be worn open I think. Also worth mentioning: I'm tall and the sleeves are (finally!) long enough for me. Lastly, the color I got (rich camel) is not really as shown on the website picture. It's more like a slightly darker camel/brown and doesn't have much red/warmth in it. Still love it though!

I have wanted this jacket for about three years, and I’ve been trying it on every single time i would pass aritzia at the mall. After aritzia offered it for 225 (175 off the original price when adding tax), i knew it was i sign that i had to buy it. AND I AM OBSESSED. It looks amazing, it the perfect warmth for fall and winter, and can be dressed up and down. the quality is amazing and i am in love.

It is so pretty! I love the color. The quality is really nice, but as some people said, there is no lining inside. I'm really short and everything fitted really well aside from the length of the sleeves. It was a bit long, long enough so you have to tailor it (if you're really short). Everything else was perfect! It came really quickly considering what is happening. Would purchase again!

I like it. I bought two same wool coats of this, but different colors, caramel and black. They are classic, good-quality and timeliness. One thing to complain is that when maintaining those jacket, you can't do regular cleaning. Also, because the jacket is made of wool, it is easy to have those small balls after wearing a while. Overall I still feel this timeliness jacket worthy it even though you might need to take more time taking care of.

Sleeves are very long perfectly sized

I was torn between getting a small and a medium and I am so glad I went with the small. It's cut really roomy in the shoulders so you can still layer a thick sweater or another thinner jacket underneath. It's not super thick but it's still warm enough for those chilly early spring days. My only critique is that it is cut so low at the front that my chest gets cold but that is easily resolved by a scarf or a higher-cut top. Otherwise it's perfect, and so comfortable.

Love the length and color. However, the arms are too long so I got them tailored even with sizing down.

I'm so happy with this coat! It's the perfect weight for that in-between traditional weather when you are tired of wearing a heavy winter coat but you still need a little bit of warmth. The only negative is that the pockets are not very deep so I can't carry everything I'm used to, like phone, keys, Presto card without worrying that they will fall out.

I’m 5’4” and typically size 8-10 - I got the Medium and it fits perfectly! I absolutely love this coat - it’s lightweight and a great layering piece for transitioning weather.

Beautiful classic coat. It does fit a little big so I would size down if you can. Because I'm petite I'll probably have to hem the length of the sleeves but overall it's a a beautiful basic.

Nice coat overall but I wish it was fully lined.

I find that the Stedman needs to be worn open, due to the way it's cut. It absolutely can be worn closed, but it's not terribly flattering that way. I find it fits perfectly in the shoulders, but balloons out just below the natural waist. The way to fix this, of course, is to pay a seamstress to move the button a bit further away, but that's a whole lot of effort.

Bought the Stedman in a medium, in a camel colour. I love the relaxed fit, single button style. I have the Wintour coat too (in black and in grey, in small), which is similar in style, except the Stedman is not fully lined (just the sleeves are, which definitely helps with ease of putting it on/taking it off smoothly/easily). So not as warm as the fully lined Wintour coat, but that’s ok, I sized up from a small so that I can wear a hoody or thick sweater under it. The small fit fine too, but was slightly tighter in the upper arm area. It puckered more than I wanted. Sizing up allows me more range of movement, and has a slouchier feel without looking sloppy. Classic style, will be enjoyed for many seasons. Have been wearing it steady for a few weeks now and have not experience any issues.

I LOVE this coat. I normally sit between a mesium/large in sizing (5'9/160lbs/athletic build) and I purposely went for a more oversized fit, so I picked the large. It fits exactly how I wanted it to, and oh my god this coat is gorgeous. I've worn it once and got three compliments in a single night.
It's so warm and comfortable, too. Excellent for cold weather. The fit hits me below the knees, which I love. It's definitely a boxier shape than something like a tapered petty coat, so something to keep in mind.

Pretty thin but warm, I’m 5’4” and it comes down just below the knee.
My only concern is that with the inside pocket pouches (?), previously sewn to the inside lining, the threads must have come undone because now, when I wear the coat open, the pockets flap about.

Love the fabric, so soft. Could be warmer but I have other coats for that. Great for fall, spring and early winter

Fit and feel is great. Classic staple to your wardrobe whether you want to dress up or down with it. I’m 5”5, 120 lbs and I found that the XXS fit nicely even if you wanted to wear a thicker layer underneath!

Saville, I pick and it's a lovely camel color, not too light, not too dark. I wish it is fully lined to make it a winter coat as it is barely, partially lined and I can't wear it in Toronto for the most part of winter. The material is not as soft or warm as the other version which has higher wool content.

The colour is BAM! It’s really good quality you know it’s good when it has a bit of cashmere. It is not heavy at all so lightweight and can really withstand some good wind so all in all I’m so happy I purchased it. I’m a m or s in aritzia outerwear but I wanted to be able to layer so choose wisely,

Fits well on me. So far my favorite coat and will definitely recommend it!

If you have longer arms, the arms are slightly too short; however, if you whether a long sleeve shirt or sweater you can't tell the difference.

I purchased this Savile coat in a M since that is my usual size; however, this coat runs quite large. I suggest to order a size down if you want a more fitted look. I kept my coat in a M and it gives that perfect oversized coat that is great for layering. The colour was also a little bit off, it did not look like the colour shown online. I’m still happy with my purchase.

This over the knee fit is so flattering! Goes well with mom jeans, skinny jean and even leggings!

I love this coat! Got it during the Boxing week sale for $98.99!! (It was the wool + cashmere blend version, not the full virgin wool one), but it seems almost identical? Fits like a dream and I like that it’s not lined and as thick as the cocoon coat so I can wear thicker sweaters under it. Of all the wool Aritzia coats I’ve gotten, this has been the best deal yet!

Got the jacket in savile. The colour and style is timeless. I can wear it to work and casually on my days off. I got it in the small and can still fit a sweater comfortably underneath so if you’re looking for something more fitted I would size down.

So happy I was able to score this on sale. I go between sizes (S-M) but I'm very happy I got the medium, super roomy and perfect paired with a chunky sweater underneath. Definitely a more relaxed fit which makes it very comfortable and easy to wear no matter what you have on underneath. I also like that it's much less structured than my other wool coat.

Beautiful and flattering fit. I am between a small and medium, but ended up ordering the medium. I find that the fit is good, as it will allow me to wear a sweater underneath. The only issue is that the arms are a bit too long on me. I am 5'5" and the bottom of the coat hits me at mid-calf.

I really love the looks of this coat and know I will have it for years. Not as warm as I was hoping but will probably get more use this way as I can wear it during fall and into spring. I am normally buy M tops at Aritzia but decided to get a S and it fits great, although I would size up if you want to wear really bulky sweaters with it.
