canberra cardigan

Very cute cardigan, but the fabric on the rich mocha brown started pilling the first day I wore it. Might be good for a quality check on these.

Ordered online because they didn't have my size in store. I ordered both the black and light birch as I couldn't make up my mind (I like the light birch more). I was surprised to notice that the light birch feels slightly softer to the touch than the black, almost more squishy. Perhaps because of this it has a lot of shedding, and big fluff balls are coming off it in the store. The sweater is warm and soft, I can wear it with or without a shirt underneath. I do wish it was a bit longer, or there was a tall option as it just hits the top of my high waisted pants (I am 5'7" with D38 chest). I went down a size from my usual and it has a "comfy" loose look about the sleeves and back without gaping at the waist. I only gave 4 stars because the light birch came with a thread pulled, and I have to go to a store and exchange it now. Considering I am paying full price I am not willing to get a new sweater that already has a thread pulled. Otherwise I think this is a cute versatile sweater that I will be able to dress up or down.

Loose fit, but totally fab and nursing friendly.

I loved this sweater when I first bought it, so much so that I got a second color. Pilling happened (it is a natural fiber, so that is to be expected) but what was not expected was that after I washed them (following the instructions) they shrunk, felted, and smelled horrible. This is not the quality I would expect from Aritizia, but sadly this has been a repeated occurrence with any of the sweaters I have bought in the last year. Really disappointed. I do however recommend this sweater if you plan to never wash it.

This sweater was beautiful and looked great on. I hesitated to buy because another size of the same sweater looked super beaten up and I just assumed it had been tried on too many times. The associated assured me if I took care of it, mine wouldn't look like that.

After two wears and no washes, the seam along the shoulder started coming undone creating a hole. I didn't spend $140 on a cardi for it to fall apart within the first month and after the beaten up one I'd seen previously, I didn't want a repair or replacement. When I went to return in-store today (expecting store credit), they pushed back saying it was outside of their return policy (worn and tags off), but they could make an exception and offer me an immediate exchange (I had to choose something on the spot). Excuse me... I'm bringing this back because of a quality issue, not as a return, I don't see how the "return policy" is even relevant? Do you not guarantee the quality of your product for even 30 days? I was eventually able to speak with a manager and get a gift card to spend another day, but I'm shocked at how difficult it was to get a store credit for a defective product within 30 days of purchase. And as a matter of principle, citing the "return policy" just isn't logical. "Quality issues" and "returns" are two totally different categories. Had it still had tags and never been worn, it wouldn't have gotten a hole in it.

I purchased size xs. It fits perfectly. It is very warm.
After watching some reviews - I won’t wash this sweater regularly and will hand wash it.

Exactly as displayed. Love this basic cardigan, I needed this in my wardrobe :)

I bought this sweater last year and wore it a dozen times, hand washed it and laid flat to dry as instructed and the garment pilled within the first few wears under the arms and along the front and I was not able to remove it. Only buy this if you are very delicate with your clothes and it’s expensive for it to look like that after once one year, the pilling is very noticeable and makes it look cheap.

Do NOT buy the gray color. I followed the washing instructions but it ended up ruining the fabric and it smelled heavily of dye. Super disappointing because I paid full price for the cardigan. One pro is that it's warm.

Cardigans were the reason I got into aritzia in the first place. I own like 5 different types; the Canberra, lagoon, Kinney, unwind, Belize, Ty, but the Canberra is possibly my favorite. Love the fit and material of this cardigan. Instead of sizing down or buying true to size, I actually went a size up. I love how this cardigan looks slightly loser than intended on me. It just gives me that cozy look. If I can buy in all colors I would.

I'm super picky with sweaters and this is my FAVORITE sweater of all time. I have the faded maroon color and I want to order 2 or 3 more in different colors because it's that good. it's 100% wool, so yes, it pills. Ignore the reviews that give this sweater 2 stars because of "THE PILLING". any wool sweater will do this! deal with it! it's still beautiful, well made with an amazing fit. I bought a size Small and it has a perfect fit for me, slightly loose as it's made with extra room in the torso and sleeves.

The quality of the knit is super nice, not itchy at all! I love the colour and the style - it has like a cropped boxy fit. Fits true to size although is more cropped than I expected (5’8).

I am usually very itchy with any sort of wool, but to my surprise I am not with this one! This is the perfect little cardi, and I’m so excited whenever I reach to wear it.

I was disappointed after one wear and one hand wash following instructions on tag, the sweater shrank and the texture of the knit had changed. I was very careful when washing, using mild detergent and cold water as instructed on the tag. I would not recommend purchasing this cardigan.

Thought I loved this when I first got it. Super soft and color was perfect. After 1 wear it started to pill. Expect higher quality for the price.

Perfect length for higher rise pants. It’s a quality staple piece that I expect to wear many times. I had tried on a cheap version at a fast fashion retailer initially thinking it would do the job - I doubt that would have held up after multiple wears. As soon as I put this on and felt the quality and weight of the material I was sold. Worth it!

It was loved for a short while until it shrunk and I followed the laundry instructions. The texture and softness changed and shrunk. I am so disappointed. Save yourself the trouble and learn from my mistake. Don’t buy it.

Cute and very comfortable cardigan. For the fit, I would take an extra inch. The biggest downside is that it pills a lot.

I want to love this sweater. It’s so gorgeous but only if you don’t wear it. It immediately started pilling on the first wear and keeps getting worse. I wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing as this seems to be the consensus.

First of all, this was my first Aritzia purchase and I am SOLD! This sweater is so so soft and just the perfect fit! Not cropped which I was so happy about and the deep cut allows me to wear just the sweater and feel cozy but look sexy. This wool is like no other I have ever worn. Super soft to the skin and I usually wear it with no shift underneath. Absolutely LOVE! This sweater!!!

Good fit. Length hits right at the waist, neckline is low for the office but not for going out. Style is more roomy through the shoulders, upper arms, but tapers at the waist. It is not a fitted cardigan. Merino is soft, not itchy but tends to pill.

I wanted to love this! But on my smaller frame/shorter torso, it didn't fit right. Hit too low and if I pulled it up to give the right shape like the model, the back billowed out strangely.

Wasn't itchy at all though, very comfy and warm.

Shrunk a lot! And on gentle cycle, cold water and hung to dry. Disappointed

Such a lovely sweater. The fabric is luxurious yet feels sturdy. The heather birch colour has a grey tinge to it.

I was looking forward to this cardigan but upon trying it on, it shed all over my tank top and pants. I would NOT recommend this cardigan.

The cut of the v neck to the sort of puff sleeves to the thick merino material, this sweater is the perfect fall layered cardigan.

People are complaining about after washing this product. For those who are NEW to merino/cashmere material - The recommendation is Dry Clean only!

This cardigan is so soft, there is zero itchiness as far as I can feel. It is lightweight yet warm and the colours are gorgeous. The buttons look expensive (tacky buttons are my pet peeve) and the fit is just perfect. I bought it in a small and I would say its true to size. I think its clear it isn't supposed to be a fitted cardigan. I will say I haven't washed it yet and I am afraid to because of the reviews I have read. I usually find if my Aritzia knits come out a different texture after hand washing that steaming them brings them back to normal.

I ordered this cardigan in gold camel. It's such a beautiful color in person. The wool is very soft and thick, but I find it to be a bit delicate. When I took it out of the bag, a section of yarn was already slightly pulled out from the interlocking weave pattern. I would recommend not wearing any accessories that may potentially snag the sweater thread. I have a long torso, but I wear high waisted pants, so this cardigan stops right wear my jeans hit my waist. Incredibly flattering all the was around. Enjoy yours!

Absolutely do not put this in the washer. I can’t imagine hand washing a sweater like this but goodluck unless you want it destroyed. I washed it once and shrunk and the material went from soft and knitted to stiff and matted. So sad considering how expensive it is. I guess people who can afford luxury can afford to take the time to hand wash their clothing 🥲 Before it was ruined by the washer it was really soft and cute. Pilled a lot but the pills came off.

This cardigan is cute on the website but it is definitely not worth $110 that I paid for during clientele. It starting pulling IMMEDIATELY after the first wear, not even a week after receiving it. I have several other Aritzia cardigans that did not do this. The image online makes it look like it is a heavy fabric but the cardigan I received is light and airy. For a cardigan over $100 this is not the quality I would expect and I do not recommend for the price.

I'm 5'1" and this sweater hits my belt line (with high waisted jeans). The sleeves are not cropped and in my case I need to roll it slightly but I do that with everything (sleeves are usually long for me.) I got it in two colors (gray and black) and it goes with everything in multiple seasons. Definitely a closet staple.

Decent quality cardigan that is just slightly oversized. Style is classic and will be worn for seasons to come.

This cardigan was given to me as a gift. I followed the instructions on how to wash it and I know for sure how to take care of wool clothes. It shrunk so much and the cardigan was so stiff and itchy after one washing and it looked like nothing like it was handed to me. I contacted the customer service and they were insisting that I should talk to my friend to get the payment information. If you’re thinking of buying expensive clothing such as wool, consider other clothing brands. I wouldn’t want to risk buying here and be disappointed considering the prices.

I received this sweater as a gift. I love the look and it is extremely comfortable. I am not giving it 5 stars because I had washed the sweater in the washing machine one time on cold and a delicate cycle. Afterwards it was hung to dry. The sweater shrunk soooo much and the quality of the sweater looks awful. I was not aware this was a hand wash only. I am so disappointed and I cannot wear it.

Shrunk very very badly although I washed it with cold water and proper wool washing detergent like my other cashmere or Marino wool sweater…

The length and material is perfect! I’m about 5’5 and 125lb, and ordered the small for a looser fit. It sits just above the hips.

I purchased 2XS. I usually like sweaters oversized especially longer on the arms. But this cardigan fits just right. TTS

I bought in size small and it's perfectly cropped but not too short, and the sleeves still have a nice volume. V neck is not too sexy so I can wear to work. Merino wool is extremely soft. Some pilling, but that is to be expected. I love it. Would buy it in other colors.

I fall in love with this cute cardigan at first sight. It's quite roomy. You may need to size down to get the ideal fit. It's well-made with beautiful and quality yarns.
