benton wool coat

This style of coat was a breath of fresh air for Aritzia, I honestly am not a fan of the straight-up-and-down style that is popular the past few years. A-line is the most flattering shape if you want to emphasize the waist without a belt or feeling constricted. It's quite dressy-looking so keep that in mind, not really a "casual" wool coat. It's definitely not good for -20C Canadian winters but as a transitional coat it is great.

Love this coat. It is super comfy and cozy and I can wear it in -20 degree weather with proper layers underneath. I love the upper button that allows you to close the neck area. I typically wear a size M in tops, but purchased an L for a slightly oversized look and to be able to wear bulkier sweaters underneath. Love it and would buy it again in a different colour!

I bought this in the gray color on sale. Aritzia really has the best quality wool winter coats out there. They fit me really well as a petite person too, which is especially important for me. The shoulders were a bit big for me (I have really small shoulders) but otherwise, this coat is amazing. I will only buy wool coats from aritzia. Please come out with some tweed coats!!!

I like this coat but want to return it because it runs small--I got a XS as advised by an Aritzia stylist (I am usually a 2-4 in Aritzia tops), and the coat is very tight on the arms. I also didn't love the A-line silhouette. I wish I could return it for another style but the return policy is not great. Also, the pockets come stitched shut, just FYI. If you want this coat and especially if you want to layer, I would size up. Overall the quality seemed good and the coat seems warm.

I'm 5'1 and have a very petite frame! this fits so perfect. so professional looking. I love this coat.

I love everything about this coat except the fact that it does not have pockets.

There is no pockets on the coat. It would be great if there is at least two pockets. In winters we do need that.

Love the coat. But the design on the chest is not so good. It's a bit uneven when I tried to use the top button.

so elegant, powerful, and warm! love the structure and length. the wide lapels make a great statement, but not in an overbearing way. got my usual size and it fits great, i can wear a thin shirt or a slightly thicker sweater under it and both work well.

I really love this coat. It’s super soft.
It’s definitely not the warmest coat though, I am not sure how well it will hold up in Manitoba’s -20 winters.
I got an XS and there is enough room for a big sweater. Could have maybe sized down.

Size up if you can. I’m normally 2XS (stedman coat for reference) but for this style I had to exchange it for XS. It was tight around the shoulders if I didn’t size up. The coat is warm, the warmest I own so far.

I tried on the M first and while it fit well in the waist, it was just too tight in the back and shoulders. I thought a size up might be too big, but ordered the L and so happy I did. While it’s a bit loose in the arms/waist, it’s so comfortable and nice that I can layer with it, but still a flattering A line shape that can be dressed up. It hits mid calf on me. I’m 5’4 and 162 lbs for reference.

I love the length, the colour, everything but the pocket. No pockets??

Perfect fit coat! I was hesitated to choose between slouch and this one. I tried both and confirmed for petite and short people, Benton fits better and makes me look higher. It’s very thick and good enough for winter above freezing.

The feel is amazing, BUT, the fit is really weird. It just doesn’t sit right…shocking to find decent reviews on it and it’s clear why this is on sale!

This coat is capsule closet worthy. It has an extremely feminine fit which means if you plan on layering a ton I would think of sizing up. I can fit a sweater underneath the S (I’m usually a S) but if I really wanted a layered look I wouldn’t be able to move my arms. This coat is super flattering and super warm. I would recommend it highly, worth the money.

I have more of an hourglass shape and the other popular coats right now don't work for me. The slouch does nothing for my body and the stedman is too straight up and down to accomodate my hips. I love that this coat is A-line and has a bit more shape to it while also being a bit large/long/oversized - I actually find it to run a bit big. My other wool coats from aritzia are mediums as well, but this one has a lot of extra room. I think if I went with the small instead, it would be too tight in the shoulders if I wore anything but a thin shirt underneath. Overall, a really lovely coat. Love the length (hits mid-calf on 5'6"). Quality matches the price. (Btw I generally wear a size 6 at aritzia, with the odd 8 when pants run small or 4 when pants run big)

The cut is great and it’s very warm, but doesn’t fit as well as I hoped. A bit too tight around the upper arms/armpit.

This coat is GORGEOUS! It's a coat that I foresee having for a very long time. It's extremely warm and flattering. My still is pretty street-chic so I love pairing this coat with an oversized hoodie and some sweats. Then when I'm headed to work it lays beautifully over my corporate ensemble. It's warm and very flattering. I actually bought it in both the black and the camel. I don't get lost in the coat despite the fact that I'm only 5'1. This is a must-have coat so if you're debating whether to make the purchase, its not up for debate - GET IT!

I love this coat. I sized up to be sure I could layer it over my bulkiest winter sweaters, and couldn’t be happier with the fit, the fabric, and the overall look. For a wool/cashmere blend, this is a steal. I can’t recommend this coat highly enough!

I love the length of the coat! I have yet to wear it out, so I can’t comment on whether it is warm. It feels so soft right out of the box, unlike some wool coats that might feel a little stiff or scratchy. The only thing that I would change is that I wish it didn’t have the slit at the back.

Love fit and fabric. Just don’t like that it picks up everything and you see it being black.

Unreal thick fabric and warmth. May run tighter with someone with a bigger bust. Also it is mostly for someone that is over 5'4+
